[Bug 573870] Re: Cannot add a wav file to an audio project through a symlink

2011-08-26 Thread Michał Borsuk
This is not invalid, but the description is vague. The real proble is
that Brasero does not follow symlinks when in Audio CD mode. No matter
what type of a file is added, if the file is a symlink, then brasero
claims an error, because it does not follow the link.

This is, I'd say, of medium annoyance, because symlinks are a perfect
tool to create playlists (independent of player issues/formats like PLS
or m3u), but then those have to be burned in GnomeBaker, which IMHO
offers less usability.

Please give a look to this perhaps simple issue.

[Bug 670667] [NEW] gcalctool decimal-to-hex conversion now more difficult

2010-11-03 Thread Michał Borsuk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gcalctool

As of ver. 5.32.0, the switching between octal, decimal, binary and hex
realms in Programming mode has been changed from radio buttons to a
list.

This makes the re-calculation of numbers from one system to another
significantly more difficult, because the list requires more attention
and focus. This is a small issue if a single calculation is involved,
but for a heavy user this is an actual deterioration in user
experience.

Please, bring back radio buttons.

[Bug 545300] Re: toggle between button and text-based location bar missing

2010-05-02 Thread Michał Borsuk
Sebastien, I did the search, and failed to find it.

Anyway, this is a simple bug: in Nautilus 2.28.1 (Ubuntu 9.10) the
button exists, in newer versions (Ubuntu 10.04) it does not. Somebody
has removed it, and we simply find this feature important. I personally
like to navigate with buttons, and then, if necessary, to copy the path
into console, but that possibility has been removed.

[Bug 438023] Re: gdm login window keyboard setting overrides gnome-keyboard-properties

2010-04-11 Thread Michał Borsuk
I had the same problem, just found the fix:

FIX:
when you see the GDM login window, on the bottom right side is the keyboard
selection window. Change the keyboard layout to what you need.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1° start Ubuntu
2° on the login screen, change keyboard to from your typical layout A to the
new layout B
3° log in; now you have layout B as keyboard layout
4° go to system-preferences-keyboard (gnome-keyboard-properties), tab Layout,
you see layout B,
5° click Reset to defaults; you get layout A.

HOW IT SHOULD BE IMHO:
I don't know whether it's a bug or a feature, but it should not be so. IMHO the
keyboard layout in gdm login window should change the keyboard layout for only
one session, or even just for the login window. Optionally it could start
gnome-keyboard-properties after login.

#421212 is different.

the others have already described.

System: AMD x86 with nVidia 6600, driver 174.x.x (later nVidia driver
causes an unrelated bug, can't use, can't test).

What do you need to reverse the Incomplete tag? I'm quite desperate

[Bug 295408] Re: nautilus expanding the first visible folder after using keyboard to select a file

2009-10-05 Thread Michał Borsuk
Bug still exists in Ubuntu 9.04/Nautilus 2.26.2

I have discovered the same bug in a different manner (i.e. this is one
bug, but it annoys more users).

My way:

* pen a folder with lots of subfolders
* switch to list view CTRL+2
* type something to locate the required folder ( here's the bug, read below)
* click the preview triangle, or press enter, or double click: wrong folder
opens.

 * Temporary solution:  *
* click the folder before previewing/opening

** Detailed description of the bug: *

when letters are typed to locate a folder, Nautilus fails to select that
folder. Instead, it selects the one which is the last before first
visible, i.e. if the first visible folder at the top is February,
Nautilus will open January.
