[Bug 1770502] Re: Brasero hangs when burning cds
I had the same problem after an upgrade from 17.10 to 18.04 - worked fine in 17.10. Worked fine for other CD types, just not audio CDs. In desperation I installed k3b, which I used prior to finding brasero a couple years ago. On launch it complained about permissions on /usr/bin/cdrdao - it needed set to 4711. I did this, and both k3b and brasero worked. I don't remember now if any others needed fixed - k3b also checks permissions for /usr/bin/wodim (should be 4711) and /usr/bin/growisofs (should be 0755). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to brasero in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1770502 Title: Brasero hangs when burning cds To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/1770502/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I couldn't find the other bug, but as of today with all current updates, the above problems have been fixed and all works normally for me. -- Icon selection window problems in v0.8 (Ubuntu Dapper) https://launchpad.net/bugs/6115 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I will take back my comment above. While confirming that another bug was fixed, I noticed that Step 3 now allows you to initially name a new printer. -- Printing: Unable to rename printer https://launchpad.net/bugs/41266 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 6115] Re: Icon selection window problems in v0.8 (Ubuntu Dapper)
The "Create launcher" dialog accessed with a right-click on the desktop works correctly now. There are still problems with adding a launcher to the panel. Steps to reproduce: 1. Right click on panel and select "Add to panel..." 2. Click on "Custom Application Launcher". 3. Fill in anything, or nothing. 4. Click on "No Icon". At this point for me, the "Browse Icons" window flashes briefly on the screen, disappears, and "No Icon" is replaced with the Kontact icon. 5. Click on Kontact icon to change icon. The "Browse Icons" window opens, with the contents of the directory containing the Kontact icon, as expected. 6. Click on "Browse..." New dialog appears. 7. Select another directory with icons and click "Open". The Browse dialog and the "Browse Icons" dialog disappear and you are returned to "Create Launcher". There is no way to change the icon for this launcher. -- Icon selection window problems in v0.8 (Ubuntu Dapper) https://launchpad.net/bugs/6115 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 39484 *** I will confirm that I can now print from Windows 2000 to my DeskJet 920C with both SMB and IPP protocols. Could this same fix be used with the Browse Icons dialog in "Create launcher", as accessed either from right-click on desktop or from "Add to Panel..." -> "Custom Application Launcher"? -- Icon selection window problems in v0.8 (Ubuntu Dapper) https://launchpad.net/bugs/6115 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 29050] Re: cupsys does not automatically detect parallel printer
dmesg showed my Toshiba Satellite A50's parallel port was in ECP. However, BIOS only has two options: ECP and Standard Bi-Directional. [Bug 41303] Can't assign default printer
Public bug reported: Affects: gnome-cups-manager (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: I first installed Dapper at Alpha Flight 5, and have installed all updates since then. During the inital installation I added a HP LaserJet 1100, and it was made the default printer. As of yesterday, when I added a HP DeskJet 920C, I could not change the default printer. If I right-click the icon and choose "Make Default", I get no error message but nothing happens. I removed both printers and added them back. Now neither of them is default and I cannot make either one the default. -- Can't assign default printer https://launchpad.net/bugs/41303 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
