[Bug 1314556] Re: Unable to mount Android MTP device

2016-02-28 Thread Mlt
It would be more productive to give some more details here.

I had this problem on 15.10 and now 16.04, and other subsystems are
working okay as I am able to connect via ADB. When I try to connect I
get the error message: "No Storages found. Maybe you need to unlock your
device?" The device is unlocked.

The command $ mtp-detect | grep idVendor

Gives:

Device 0 (VID=18d1 and PID=4ee2) is a Google Inc (for LG Electronics/Samsung)
Nexus 4/5/7/10 (MTP+ADB).
ignoring libusb_claim_interface() = -6PTP_ERROR_IO: failed to open session,
trying again after resetting USB interface
LIBMTP libusb: Attempt to reset device
Error 1: Get Storage information failed.

  idVendor: 18d1

None of the suggested workarounds do.

[Bug 1314556] Re: Unable to mount Android MTP device

2016-02-28 Thread Mlt
I have the same issue with a nexus 5, and with marshmallow there seems
to be no other option than MTP.

What does the ubuntu phone use? I hope its not MTP because that would
just be embarrassing...

[Bug 52405] Re: gnome-panel eats 50% cpu for half an hour and flickers

2006-09-04 Thread Mlt
I had this problem but a recent update seems to have cured it.

gnome-panel is now running normally.

I commented out the grub boot image and rebooted - the terminals are now
readable.

[Bug 58642] gnome-panel uses high % of CPU resources

2006-09-02 Thread Mlt
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

I have just upgraded to edgy and gnome panel is using 68-85% of CPU
resources and about 50 MB of memory.

It was working normally in dapper.

** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 58643] the non-x terminal is not readable

2006-09-02 Thread Mlt
Public bug reported:

I have just upgraded form dapper. I have previously run from warty on
this machine without this problem.

Non-x terminals have a large number of vertical, dashed white lines
regularly spread running down them which makes them unusable.

2006-09-02 Thread Mlt
This is a duplicate of #52405 and should be closed.

I did a search - honest - but did not have that report as a result.

[Bug 34430] Re: add gimp-print to ubuntu-desktop

2006-04-06 Thread Mlt
Well, it seems to me that printing from a graphics program is basic to its
fundamental purpose. Therefore, without it the program is broken and therefore
it would appear to be a bug.

If I said that gimp had a broken dependency as it doesn't install gimp-print
would that help?

[Bug 31517] hal-device-manager does not load

2006-02-22 Thread Mlt
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/31517

Comment:
When starting gnome the following comment comes up:

Internal error

failed to initialize HAL!

None of the USB functions work or, funnily enough does update-notifier.
Trying to debug using wiki instructions for removable drives the
following happens:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ update-notifier
update-notifier: hal_initialize failed: (null)
: Resource temporarily unavailable
** (update-notifier:7881): DEBUG: tray_icons_init
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ killall gnome-volume-manager
gnome-volume-manager: no process killed
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gnome-volume-manager -n 21 | tee gvm.log

** (gnome-volume-manager:8147): WARNING **: manager.c/3016: hal_initialize
failed: (null)
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lshal lshal.txt
error: libhal_ctx_init: (null): (null)
Could not initialise connection to hald.
Normally this mean the HAL daemon (hald) is not running or not ready.

This is on an dist-upgrade from a fully functioning breezy installation.
It was current as of the time date of this comment.

Everything works fine but there are no icons in against any of the
