[Bug 329402] [NEW] [Jaunty] gnome-display-properties doesn't detect monitors

2009-02-14 Thread Niclas L
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

When an additional monitor is attached after a login, gnome-display-properties
does not find it when clicking "Detect Monitors".
Running "xrandr --auto" in the terminal makes the secondary monitor start and
show the desktop.
This also adds the monitor to gnome-display-properties.
I suppose this shows that the back end finds the monitor while the front end
doesn't?

If the monitor already is attached when you log on, the display shows up
though.

I suppose this shows that the back end finds the monitor while the front end
doesn't?

If the monitor already is attached when you log on, the display shows up
though.

Ubuntu 9.04 (2.6.28-7-generic i686)

gnome-control-center:
  Installed: 1:2.25.90-0ubuntu2

libxrandr2:
  Installed: 2:1.2.99.4-1

xserver-xorg-video-radeon:
  Installed: 1:6.10.99.0-1ubuntu1

xserver-xorg-core:
  Installed: 2:1.5.99.902-0ubuntu6
