[Bug 270976] Re: [SRU] gst-plugins-bad0.10 needs rebuilding with mjpegtools to enable burning video with Brasero
I added the PPA and installed the packages from it. Running gst-inspect0.10 | grep mpeg2 prints a line ffmpeg: ffenc_mpeg2video: FFMPEG MPEG-2 video encoder But I still get the annoying plugins message and brasero will not burn a dvd... :( Do you have any idea what should be done? -- [SRU] gst-plugins-bad0.10 needs rebuilding with mjpegtools to enable burning video with Brasero https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/270976 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 154096] Re: Print options shouldn't be saved across different sessions
552426 is the bug which says exactly that print settings should be forgotten. 349102 is a mix of people asking that evince will remember their page size and people asking that it use the default settings. ** Changed in: evince Bugwatch: GNOME Bug Tracker #349102 = GNOME Bug Tracker #552426 Status: Fix Released = Unknown -- Print options shouldn't be saved across different sessions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154096 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 154096] Re: Print options shouldn't be saved across different sessions
Thanks to Sebastien's instructions on how to get the source and play with it, I managed to fix the bug. It required only 25 additional characters in the source! It turns out that the code to load and save the print settings to a file is surrounded by #if directives, which check for a large enough version of GTK (in version 2.11.0, a feature to save and load the print settings was added to GTK). I changed #if GTK_CHECK_VERSION (2, 11, 0) into #if 0 GTK_CHECK_VERSION (2, 11, 0) in five places, and it works perfectly now. I guess that at the end the code should be removed altogether, but currently it works very nicely. I attached the diff. [Bug 154096] Re: Print options shouldn't be saved across different sessions
I right now encountered this bug again, and I add my request to fix this bug. What happened to Andrew happened also to me: On a previous session I printed first the odd pages and then the even pages. Some time later, I tried to print a one-page document and it took me some while and frustration to realize that it didn't print because the even pages option was selected on a different tab and the document had no even pages. Why not fix this bug? How hard should it be *not* to save options? The solution is so simple: Options should be saved for a specific evince process, but not saved between them. If someone wants to change a default, he can go to print settings and change it there. -- Print options shouldn't be saved across different sessions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154096 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

No, I was accidentally commenting on the wrong bug... The rename bug is https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/234167 . I wanted to ask if you can link it to the previous report. [Bug 234160] [NEW] Copy over sftp stops after one file and closes nautilus
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Hello, I: * select two files on another computer (the address is ssh://othercomputer.local), one of them big (~300MB) and the other small * copy them (ctrl+c) * open a new nautilus window (using the menu) * switch to the /tmp directory * paste (ctrl+v) Then, a window saying that two files are being copied is displayed. After the first file is copied, the progress window is closed together with the two nautilus windows. A new nautilus window is displayed, showing my home directory. Re: [Bug 209374] Re: gnome-sound-recorder voice encoder should be mono
I agree it's more a wish than a bug. I clicked Report a bug in the application and there was no place to change the classification into a wish. Even though it's not technically a bug, I think it gets close to a bug. It's a small (design) mistake, probably pretty easy to fix, which makes the program significantly less useful for recording speech. [Bug 209374] [NEW] gnome-sound-recorder voice encoder should be mono
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-media Hello, I now used gnome-sound-recorder to record a lesson, using the Voice, Lossy (Speex audio) encoding. The resulting file size for about 1 hour is about 20MB. It turns out that the file is encoded in stereo. I think that 99.9% of people recording speech are not interested in stereo, and most chances are that they use a mono microphone. I think that 10MB/hour would be much nicer than 20MB/hour. By the way, I think that 5MB/hour would be even nicer, if it sounds Ok. If it is understandable but sounds significantly worse, I would add another option - Why not have voice, lossy, high quality and voice, lossy, low quality?
