[Bug 507021] Re: Last login time should be shown also in graphical environments

2012-04-23 Thread Osmo Laitinen
Found this related bug for lightdm:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/870297

And yes, I'm using lightdm, so this doesn't affect me.

2012-04-23 Thread Osmo Laitinen
Yes, last command should show also graphical logins. I don't know how
long this has been broken for me, maybe since gdm was replaced with
lightdm. So, it is also true that this might be something desktop users
won't use much.

[Bug 815585] Re: Rhythmbox unable to retrieve CD title / track information from MusicBrainz

2011-11-16 Thread Osmo Laitinen
Why such decision has been made? Why not give people freedom to choose
software they want to use?

Need to force* people to switch Banshee?
Now, when we are forced to use Banshee, will we be forced to switch back to
Rhythmbox with 12.04?

I also checked with tcpdump and rhythmbox doesn't even send any request to
Musicbrainz like Banshee does.
You really should fix this, apparently this has been ongoing for awhile.

[Bug 846813] Re: gnome-control-center crashed with SIGSEGV in g_hash_table_find()

2011-09-10 Thread Osmo Laitinen
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 809420 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/809420

I cannot reproduce it anymore.
Apparently there is no need to enable the account after password is set. That's
good.
But there is another usability problem (maybe this should be reported somewhere
else?):

First account is created and it states like this:
Password: Account disabled

Then you press "Account disabled" and set a password. After that it states:
Password:

Now you don't see is account still disabled or was it enabled while
password was set.

Maybe it should look like:
First case:
Account: Disabled
Password: No password set

After setting password:
Account: enabled
Password:

[Bug 735027] [NEW] gnome-settings-daemon going wild

2011-03-14 Thread Osmo Laitinen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

User logged out of system, but one process was left behind:
username 1607 1 67 14:59 ?03:55:03
/usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon/gnome-settings-daemon

That filled .xsession-errors with the following line:
(gnome-settings-daemon:1607): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref:
assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

and as a result .xsession error ended up with size of 157G until disk
was filled and that process was killed with KILL (-9).
