[Bug 958052] Re: Show battery status in menu bar does not work
Battery problems in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (64 bit): Laptop Specs.. TOSHIBA L755 with an Intel Core i3 Processor (it is 64bit, hence that is why I use Ubuntu 64 bit) with 4GB RAM, with about a 500 GB Hard Drive (that really doesn't matter) and a Battery and Charger that is NOT even 7 months old.. when working, Ubuntu Power Stats tells me that it has a capacity of 99% and only can't charge about .5 Wh of about what it should (because it is at 99% capacity).. TOSHIBA BRANDED health monitor told me when I was using Windows 7 Home Premium that the battery had a 85% Health... None the less, the battery STILL works and lasts up to 4 or 4.5 hours depending on what I am doing.. The ONLY reason why the battery doesn't last like a crazy 8 hours is because I am always using the Battery to surf the web... In fact... I am using the battery right now to post this comment Anyways, I also experience the problem.. Battery isn't indicated sometime (READ: Most of the time); even though it is there. I am using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit with the LATEST updates as of 6/5/12 and am using GNOME 3.4.1 as the desktop environment.. I tried using Unity, but it doesn't show up there, either.. None the less.. I don't like Unity because of it's hard to use interface.. Anyways, if you put the system on Suspend (close the laptop lid), then when you wakeup, the battery indicator will likely be there, but I need it to be there all of the time.. I tried do the ALT + F2 and running "r" as the command and it doesn't help at all. I also tried various things such as logging out and logging back in AND running "gnome-control-center" in Terminal.. no errors, but the Power setting to show the battery status all of the time doesn't stick.. the value doesn't stick. That is my two cents on the battery statuses in Ubuntu 12.04... Hope this bug will be fixed soon in the next couple of weeks in Updates.. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/958052 Title: Show battery status in menu bar does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/958052/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
