Public bug reported: Binary package hint: yelp It is impossible to get ABNT to work with ANY version of Ubuntu without messing with /etc/xorg.conf. Today all my projects in Eclipse messed up because I was trying to fix the accentuation and I changed the charset which in turn replaced all accents to some weird character. If you have English set up and you want to type Portuguese accents then you need ABNT with US keboard settings. please fix this.
