[Bug 1778011] Re: SRU: PRIME Power Saving mode draws too much power

2018-11-05 Thread Renato Bueno
@Alberto,

As you suggest, I did some tests with lightdm on Ubuntu 18.10 and it's
working. Low battery usage with Intel and second monitor working with
Nvidia.

Thanks for your answer.

Renato

[Bug 1778011] Re: SRU: PRIME Power Saving mode draws too much power

2018-10-25 Thread Renato Bueno
@Alberto, I switched back to Ubuntu 18.04 and now everything is working.
Now I can switch to Intel with low power consumption and no external monitor
how it was ever, and when I switch back to Nvidia, I can use external monitor
normally.

Next weekend I`ll try again with Lightdm and tell you, ok?

[Bug 1203592] Re: Keyboard backlight does not work in Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C

2014-05-25 Thread Renato Severiano
I'm on a NP700Z5C using LMDE/Debian testing. Keyboard backlight works in
auto mode, and its Fn+F9, Fn+F10 keys do nothing. It would fine for me
if it were possible to at least turn it off or auto. For example: when
watching a film in a dark room it is not possible to turn off those
lights off. Also having the wifi key working would be very good.

I there anyway I can help?

[Bug 676797] [NEW] The saving message shows filepath between backslashes

2010-11-17 Thread Renato Miceli
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

When a file is being saved, be it through File Save or Ctrl+S, a
saving message shows up in the status bar. It presents the following
sentence:

Saving file \/path/to/file\...

I believe the filepath was supposed to be enclosed in just quotation
marks, but for some purpose the backslashes appeared. Maybe the escape
character to allow quotation marks within strings was doubled?

Release: gedit 2.30.3 on Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit

[Bug 449198] Re: gdmsetup doesn't allow to change login screen theme in 9.10 (karmic)

2009-11-02 Thread Renato Silva
I have 3 suggestions for implementing this:

1) In gnome-appearance-properties:
[x] Aply this theme to the login screen (displayed/enabled only if the user
has admin rights)

2) In gdmsetup:
[x] Apply the following theme to the login screen: [Current | v ]
[x] Use the following custom background: [/path/to/image [ Choose... ]]

3) In gdmsetup or as a separate entry in System Administration:
[Change look of login screen] -- that button would run $gksu -u gdm
dbus-launch gnome-appearance-properties, and add something like a notice or
window title to differentiate the dialog from System Preferences Appearance)

[Bug 180541] [Gutsy] Totem crashes on visual effects

2008-01-05 Thread Renato Silva
Public bug reported:

After installing Totem GStreamer codecs then Totem does not work anymore
if compiz-fusion is enabled with customized option of Appearance menu.
When I check at least Normal, then it works fine. In fact, now my
videocard is a kind of blacklisted so that I made compiz ignore check
to enable visual effects.

# This is my onboard videocard (lspci):

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82946GZ/GL
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)

# This is totem's error:

The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 48 error_code 11 request_code 140 minor_code 19)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

[Bug 180545] Ubuntu crashes on startup and logout

anymore.

It's necessary to hardly reboot the computer in both cases and all
reffered versions are 32-bit.

My computer is a Core 2 Duo (64-bit), Intel's DG 946GZis motherboard,
SATA 2 HD.
