[Bug 886555] [NEW] keyboard selection in nautilus buggy
Public bug reported: Normally in nautilus if you search in the window using the keyboard you get the little searchbox on the lower right corner with your preview. Now if you klick up or down on the keyboard or turning the scroll wheel on the mouse the next matching search results will be displayed. If you klick ESC the searchbox will be closed and purged. Now in Ubuntu (but not in other distributions like fedora), if you search with your keyboard you'll get the first matching search result but turning the mouse wheel scrolls the screen and mouse keys move the selection. Thats annoying enough but if you decide you want to search again the searchbox adds your chars instead of replacing them, and also if you want to clear the box using the backspace button like you normaly would do, nautilus just goes up one level. And sometimes the searchbox will only clear if you close the nautilus window and open a new one. Not very user friendly. I encountered this behavior in all my freshly new installed ubuntu 11.10 x86_64 and x86 ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: nautilus search -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886555 Title: keyboard selection in nautilus buggy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/886555/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 48671] Re: Cannot rename by clicking on a file
Thats the most annoying feature of the windows explorer and I will hate to see this enabled in nautilus. However if this must be added because windows explorer likes it this way, do it. Just give me a gconf option to disable this feature an i will be happy. So any windows switcher will have their explorer and poweruser would be able to disable this using gconf. -- Cannot rename by clicking on a file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/48671 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
