[Bug 667071] Re: archive manager

2011-01-26 Thread RichWolf
My bug is duplicate #700909. The method proposed in #10 worked for me.
I realize the original problem was caused by opening a folder containing
video by choosing "Open with other Application", "Movie Player" and leaving
the default "Remember this application for 'folder' files" checkbox checked. I
had overlooked checkbox that first time. By doing this I could repeat my
problem. I think the checkbox default should be unchecked instead of checked.
So I don't have a problem now. my bug can be closed.

[Bug 700909] [NEW] movie player opens everytime I open a folder from "Places" menu.

2011-01-09 Thread RichWolf
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

My suspicion is this is some kind of file association to the folder type. I'm
not sure where to look to fix this.
It will play a movie type file if one is available otherwise it will give an
error that no plug-in type was found.

[Bug 106060] Re: Selecting the Molecule screensaver makes the PC freeze. It is completely unresponsive.

2007-05-10 Thread RichWolf
Without doing anything except letting my computer go go to the
"Molecule" screen saver and lockup, then hard restart, I was able to see
the Molecule screen saver and change it to something else.

If you are still having this problem maybe try this by letting the
machine activate the screen saver itself then hard restart. Then go to
the screen saver and change it. Sounds kinda like M$ stuff but it
worked for me. Of course it still doesn't solve why this happens in
the first place.

[Bug 106060] Re: Selecting the Molecule screensaver makes the PC freeze. It is completely unresponsive.

2007-05-10 Thread RichWolf
I can confirm this one also. I'm running a Dell Dimension 4100 1Ghz,
with an ATI Rage 128 Pro video card, Feisty 7.04.

System completely locks up required hard boot. If I go back into
screensaver it locks up again because "Molecule" is selected.

I'll try another crash to see if I can get the logs, then gedit the
gnome screensaver so I can choose another screensaver.

Rich
p.s. maybe it's a regional thing since I'm in Oregon also. ;)
