I tried plugging in to two different USB ports, then repeatedly into
one. It finally took, so the problem is intermittent for me.

It turns out mtp-connect was hanging in a terminal window and I found a
lot of what might be useful debugging info when I went back to it (after
the successful mount):

Still having the problem in Chrome and Chromium where adjusting the
volume/brightness using keyboard shortcuts causes the screen to flash
white while playing flash video.

Hi I am using Evolution with more than one client and some IMAP mail-
servers.

I have found two minor bugs.

If two clients are online on the same inbox, the green envolope in the upper 
right corner is not reset on the client you do not read the mails on.
But the bold text is correct changed to normal in the inbox.

If evolution is closed down after you read som new mails, information is not 
sent to the server that the mails are not new anymore.
workaround: You have to press send/recieve before close.

Yes I am all ready running libcairo2 1.8.8-2ubuntu1.1.
Simple pdf files like this one works fine, and does only generate files in the 
xx Kb range for the printer.

My iMac running osx 10.4 prints fast without any problems. And my IBM
T41p running XP prints also without any problems.

Work Around:

If you anyways use the black screen on the screenserver. You will not
need it. I have just removed the screen-saver package And now the screen
turns off perfectly.

I actually did not remove the screensaver itself but:

screensaver-default-images
ubuntu-desktop 

Have just removed the screensaver itself after I read your post, and
then it does not work for me either.

On my system it also looks like it never suspend. But if screensaver and
powermanager both is set to 1 minute. It suspends every 100 secs. or so,
but switch on right after again. Can you not observe that?
