[Bug 600215] [NEW] Unable to tell who's online based on mono icons

2010-06-30 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

I'm using Maverick. The new mono status icons for Empathy do not allow
me (with mild colour blindness) to distinguish between
online/away/offline etc. friends. I suggest either switching back to the
old icons or drawing the respective symbols in a dark colour on the icon
instead of white. If any more information is needed, I will happily
provide it.

This seems not to be happening in gnome-shell, can anyone confirm? If it
is fixed there, maybe the code could be reused?

[Bug 463366] [NEW] Click+Shift+2nd click wrongly selects files on desktop

2009-10-29 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Normally, when one would click on the topmost file on the desktop and
then on another file while holding Shift, every file in between is
selected. This is however only the case when the files are sorted
alfabetically. So, when the files are in random order, they are selected
according to their name and not their place. Also see the screenshot.

Metacity comes up all right on my system even if the file is removed. I
can confirm the cursor behaviour though.

Martin Pitt schreef:
Removing metacity means that there won't be any window manager any more,

due to gnome-session waiting for the window manager to appear.

Re: [Bug 40872] Re: Desktop icons are allowed to overlap horribly

2009-06-11 Thread Ruben Verweij
We could also try to abandon any idea of a grid and consider each icon
as a separate square. If another square is placed on top of it, that
square will instead be placed at the bottom corner of the square it was
placed on top of. If there isn't any room at the bottom (mind Feynman),
place the icon on the right corner of the square.
I have no idea if this is realistic/implementable, but it was just a
thought.

[Bug 290349] [NEW] Icon's original position is not restored when the notification area grows and shrinks again

2008-10-28 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

I have an icon left to the notification area. If the notification area grows,
the icon is pushed to the left, which is good. But if the notification area
shrinks again (after a reminder from Evolution, etc.), the icon's original
position is not restored. This is very irritating, because if the notification
area grows really full, there is a lot of space between the icon and the
notification area if it has shrunk again.

[Bug 211959] Re: error message on desktop

2008-10-10 Thread Ruben Verweij
According to the screenshot, I think this has to do more with gnome-
power-manager rather than Firefox.

** Changed in: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu)
Sourcepackagename: firefox-3.0 = gnome-power-manager
   Status: New = Incomplete

[Bug 257423] [NEW] Add extra line above reply in evolution

2008-08-12 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When replying in Evolution, the cursor is placed before -Original
Message-. This is a small but very irritating bug and probably easy
to fix. See also: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=407997

** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 257423] Re: Add extra line above reply in evolution

2008-08-12 Thread Ruben Verweij
I would expect the following behaviour:

|
--Original Message
rest of the quote etc.

where | represents the cursor. If the cursor is positioned there, you
can start typing directly instead of typing enter and key up before you
can type your message.
