[Bug 1061195] Re: Can't create EWS or MAPI account

2014-08-11 Thread Sayantan Das
Figured out a way to do it.
Make sure to remove all attempts made before as explained in#35.
Add the exchange account using EWS. Then click Finish.
Do NOT, make any additional settings changes. It should work . Tested with two
different MS Exchange accounts.

[Bug 1281009] [NEW] add out of the box file sharing support (samba) for Ubuntu with GUI

2014-02-17 Thread Sayantan Das
Public bug reported:

File sharing between Ubuntu and Windows PCs is a bit of a struggle. One
cannot get it up and running without searching online for a solution.
Also there is always a bit of commandline involved in the process.

It would be better, if the required GUI and the dependencies are
installed by default for Ubuntu . Even if the dependencies are not
involved, during setup of file share, the system should prompt for the
required dependencies which can be installed from the Ubuntu Software
Center.

[Bug 1281001] [NEW] personal file share GUI is misleading, doesn't say what packages are missing

2014-02-17 Thread Sayantan Das
Public bug reported:

Personal file share GUI which comes pre-installed in Ubuntu is misleading. When
the GUI is launched, it says certain packages are missing, but does not say
which ones. This confuses people and does not help anyone who wants an easy way
to share files.
Either the complete package should be installed for the GUI or it should be
completely removed.

[Bug 1159021] [NEW] Wireless authentication fails on wake in Ubuntu 13.04

2013-03-22 Thread Sayantan Das
Public bug reported:

I have upgraded from Ubuntu 12.04 to Ubuntu 13.04 beta x64. Now, I can see that
whenever I put the computer to sleep by closing the lid, the laptop fails to
connect to the previously connected wifi network on waking up.
I have to do a complete restart for the authentication to work.

Using the hardware switch to turn off/on the wireless or restarting
wireless services do not seem to have any effect.

The laptop is a Dell Vostro 3300. Details of the wireless card

@roignac: How is this bug a duplicate of #44563? That bug is for auto-arranging
desktop icons.
The linked bug for show in groups reported in bugzilla is 10 years old and i
really dont think those guys will look at it.
I think this should be pushed as a request to the gnome devs again instead of

[Bug 907739] [NEW] empathy cannot call to android phones

2011-12-22 Thread Sayantan Das
Public bug reported:

1. I was trying to call to android phone ( Galaxy S II, Gingerbread

2. Calling from the phone to empathy, the call does not connect

delay of atlest 30 secs

3. The symbol on the phone does not show a video device is available.

[Bug 713033] Re: our institution uses a proxy server.i am not able to find fields where i can enter proxy settings.so i am not able to use empathy.

2011-03-22 Thread Sayantan Das
Empathy does not work with any proxy as far as I have experienced. I
have tried gnome-network-properties and also set export http_proxy as
well. Still it does not work. Firefox, thunderbird, synaptic all work
but not empathy.

[Bug 658445] Re: Ubuntu 10.10: proxy settings are not detected in some applications like empathy or update-manager

2011-03-22 Thread Sayantan Das
I think this is a major bug. Rendering it invalid does not solve any purpose
for anyone who is planning to deploy ubuntu in enterprise environments where
there is proxy. Please, please fix this bug . it is affecting chat sessions in
my office network.
exporting proxy using export http_proxy doesnt help either.

[Bug 720883] [NEW] evolution is slow in retrieving messages from microsoft exchange

2011-02-17 Thread Sayantan Das
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Hi,
I am using Ubuntu 10.10 amd64. I use Evolution for retrieving emails from my MS
Exchage email accounts . One account uses evolution-exchange and the other
account uses exchange-mapi plugin.
When a new message arrives in Evolution, it takes for ever to retrieve the
message contents from the server. This happens for both the accounts. only if
the messages are downloaded locally, Evolution works fine.
This is a major bug in Evolution and should be fixed asap.

[Bug 665573] [NEW] calendar not accessible from evolution express in UNR 10.10

2010-10-23 Thread Sayantan Das
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Hi,

I am using Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.10. The evolution express, which
comes with this release does not have any easy way to access the
calendar. I have to go to the applications menu to click for calendar.
Can you not add a link on the top panel, beside the contacts, to switch
to the calendar?

Thanks,
Sayantan

[Bug 661686] [NEW] declining yahoo subscription does not take effect

2010-10-16 Thread Sayantan Das
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

Hi devs,

I am using empathy for my yahoo account. I keep getting these spam
friend requests which I used to happily decline in other messenger
services and it never appeared again but in empathy, every time i
decline a subscription request from an unknown user, it comes back with
the request if I log out of empathy and log back in again.

If I decline the request from my android phone messenger service or
yahoo messenger in windows it does come back in empathy again.

Could you guys look into this please?

Thanks,

only 1 hour 5 mins backup.
I have confirmed my battery is alright as I get 2+ hours on windows 7.
