[Bug 2025531] Re: file-roller crashed with signal 5 in g_object_new_valist()

2023-08-23 Thread Scott Kostyshak
This just happened to me also, after a fresh install of 23.10 daily. It
happened during an install script, and it happened in particular while
my install script was installing packages via `sudo apt-get install`.
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce.

Same here, also (comment #31) on Ubuntu Gnome 16.04.

[Bug 1244090] Re: Pressing any global keyboard shortcut causes temporary loss of focus

2014-08-21 Thread Scott Kostyshak
I wonder if another symptom of this bug is #1360036.

I wonder if this is at all related to #1244090.

[Bug 1360036] [NEW] Using F11 as a shortcut for volume randomly activates full screen

2014-08-21 Thread Scott Kostyshak
Public bug reported:

To reproduce, run the following:

gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-keys volume-down
'F11'

and then open an application that supports toggling fullscreen with F11 (or I
imagine has any kind of shortcut for F11).
First press F11 singularly a few times and note that the volume decreases. This
is what I expected.
Now hold F11. The volume decreases sometimes and other times the fullscreen is
toggled back and forth. It seems that some of the F11 presses are not being
picked up on the system level.

I've reproduced this on Ubuntu 14.04 on three separate machines
(although they all have very similar setups).

[Bug 888789] Re: evince doesn't render embedded font

2013-12-24 Thread Scott Kostyshak
I can reproduce this bug by trying to open the pdf failing.pdf (posted
earlier). Note that it appears fine to my eyes but the error messages to
STDERR and the apparmor entries in kern.log show that there is a
problem. It must be that the problem font is just not used in many parts
of this particular PDF.

In another document, I can see no text. I cannot upload it because of
private information.

Adding the line
/usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/fonts/** r,
to the
/usr/bin/evince
block solves the problem.

I can reproduce starting from a fresh install of Ubuntu 13.10 with the
following:
sudo apt-get install git
git clone https://github.com/scottkosty/install-tl-ubuntu
 cd install-tl-ubuntu
sudo ./install-tl-ubuntu
# restart computer
evince failing.pdf

Note that ./install-tl-ubuntu could take an hour or so to install. But I
just wanted to give a way to reproduce from a fresh install in case
someone looks here.
