Hello there. What makes you think that ISO files require slower burning? (You might be "blessed" with a crappy CD writer like many people are, which write junk if they're driven to write too fast. However, that has nothing to do with ISOs.) -- Need to be able to determine/slow down the CD burning speed. [Bug 27014] Re: evolution bug, "Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync"
In my experience, the issue with the duplicated emails is strongly correlated with the mismatch issue that this bug is about. [Bug 210468] Re: try to access a .Trash-$USER directory on autofs mounts
I'm starting to believe we're looking at four different issues here a) gvfsdtrash looking into every mountpoint for .Trash directories. This should not be, as such, a problem. b) gvfsdtrash's accumulating endlessly and keeping automounted NFS busy. That is a bug. c) gvfsdtrash not knowing that filesystems of type "autofs" are unlikely to contain .Trash directories (or need one). This should not be, as such, a problem, but creates ugly spam in the logs. d) Something in hardy's GNOME stack confusing the hell of out the automouter so it goes through the automounter map and mounts everything in sight. This kills the machine if there is a large number of automountable directories. I'm not sure if anything in gvfs even knows which directories can be automounted, so it could be that this is in fact an automounter bug. -- try to access a .Trash-$USER directory on autofs mounts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210468 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is the registrant for gvfs. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 210468] Re: try to access a .Trash-$USER directory on autofs mounts
On a medium-sized installation with a few thousand automounter entries, the resulting mount storm makes the system unusable. It is constantly spawning new automount processes (almost like a fork bomb) and keeps haldaemon at 99% CPU. Not sure how gvfs triggers this, a simple stat /home/.Trash (where /home is autofs) sure doesn't trigger a mount storm. This is happening from time to time; the bug was also in feisty and seems to be more likely to occurr in hardy. -- try to access a .Trash-$USER directory on autofs mounts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210468 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is the registrant for gvfs. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 213073] [NEW] background preview shows odd colors
Public bug reported: When changing the desktop background, the colors in the preview thumbnails are displayed incorrectly (see attached image, the pictures should be Ubuntu-colored). This happens on a Sun Ray display, so the X server is _not_ Xorg. Sun Rays have a slightly unusal X11 visual with the color components ordered differently than most Xorg visuals (RGB vs. BGR). (This has caused problems with other software in the past, see http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg05751.html) I'm reporting this here because it is a bug in a package distributed by Ubuntu, even though in my case it surfaces when used in conjunction with closed-source software. ** Affects: control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- background preview shows odd colors https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213073 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 203825] Re: [hardy] GDM hangs on a black screen upon startup
Frankly, I had no idea it was a GTK issue. I get the same results as the reporter #203825, GTK stops my login screens from popping up. Interestingly, they /do/ pop up given enough time (~2-3 minutes at 100% CPU). I'll try to get a backtrace of my bug tomorrow, but I think the two can be merged. If this bug happens to be triggered by any GDM themes Ubuntu distributes (as opposed to our homebrewn), the severity of #147045 should probably be raised, as it at first glance stops users from logging in. -- [hardy] GDM hangs on a black screen upon startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/203825 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 203825] Re: [hardy] GDM hangs on a black screen upon startup
The effect is caused by .gtkrc included in our theme (located in /opt/cip...). I'm now circumventing it by using the gtkrc from the Human theme. [Bug 27014] Re: evolution bug, "Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync"
For those suffering from this problem: A working workaround. 1. Set Evolution to Offline mode, exit evolution 2. Open terminal and run evolution --force-shutdown 3. find ~/.evolution/mail/local/ -name \*ev-summary -delete 4. Re-start Evolution. Warning: this involves automated file removal which can result in data loss if done incorrectly. I take no responsibilities. Read "man find" to understand what you're doing. Step 2 is *essential*.
