Since a new restart, cheese is working.
Unfortunately it's unusable as it's taking 100% CPU and show only one picture
every 10 seconds.

There is no messages.

As a reminder, before the gstreamer patches, cheese was working fluently
with ld_preload.

I'm using 8.10 32-bits.
Cheese is not working (not even with LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l2convert.so)
With libv4l 0.5 it still doesn't work.

With both I have the same messages :

$ LANG= cheese
libv4l2: error dequeuing buf: Input/output error
libv4l2: error dequeuing buf: Input/output error

(cheese:12158): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_bin_add: assertion `GST_IS_BIN

** (cheese:12158): WARNING **: Couldn't change webcam device.

The last message happen when I'm trying to change the device from my tv
tuner to the webcam.

NB : Cheese was working when I was using LD_PRELOAD before the official
inclusion of libv4l

[Bug 272706] [NEW] Mouse loose acceleration settings when using another X Window

2008-09-21 Thread Stéphane Marguet
Public bug reported:

When using another X window (like Xnest or launching gdmthemetester), the new
Window will not use your mouse gnome settings (which is normal) but when you
close it, your mouse acceleration is not brought back.
You'll have to run gnome-mouse-properties and click on acceleration to bring it
back.

Test case:
In gnome set acceleration to (very) slow so you could see a difference.
Open an Xnest :1 window.
Your mouse will have the «normal» acceleration.
Close your Xnest window and the mouse will still have the «normal» settings.

[Bug 268961] Re: [Intrepid] GDM : No more face browser

2008-09-11 Thread Stéphane Marguet
Ok so it's not a problem with gdm.conf-custom.
But I don't have a face browser since yesterday night.
And testing with gdmthemetester on every List theme doesn't show any List.

The problem is in gdmsetup.

In gdmsetup, in local tab, in Style choose Themed... All the choices are
available, including face browser, but in gdm the face browser will not
show up.

[Bug 137276] Re: gdmthemetester : eval: 1: Syntax error: ( unexpected

2007-10-17 Thread Stéphane Marguet
You're absolutely right, I should have said :

«Version : 2.20.0-0ubuntu6
Bug still there.»

It's probably an error but I thought fix Commited means that's it was just a
question of upload.
And I've seen many new versions since this report and the patch in gnome was
send nearly one month ago by Brian Cameron.
But it's probably my mistake to think it was easy.

Anyway thank you, but I guess adding this comment is «not of real use
there».

[Bug 39856] Re: Panel in middle of the screen after reboot when not full-sized

2007-09-17 Thread Stéphane Marguet
On a bottom panel (orientation bottom), click on properties, uncheck the expand
option.
Log out.
The panel orientation is top and you can't change it unless you change the
expand option to true.
