[Bug 949468] Re: Right click paste menu item is greyed out

https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/882307

Hi, while this bug is mentioned in the linked duplicate bug, the
behaviors described in the main body of the bug are different. I don't
know whether that merits keeping this open, but it's certainly confusing
to have a duplicate that involves completely different behavior,
especially since that duplicate is supposedly expired.

2012-10-18 Thread Tchalvak

Here is my full ubuntu and nautilus version info.

This issue also occurs with the rename right-click option, which appears
greyed out as if the option is disabled, though renaming is still possible. I
just tested closing all nautilus windows to try to restart nautilus, and the
problem is gone for now once I do that.

[Bug 979285] [NEW] Unity in Oneiric Gedit does not let gedit act as active, causes opening of new documents when trying to return to gedit window.

2012-04-11 Thread Tchalvak
Public bug reported:

I upgraded to Oneiric, I am running gedit.

Version:
cat /proc/version
cat /etc/issue
uname -a
Linux version 3.0.0-17-generic (buildd@roseapple) (gcc version 4.6.1
(Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.1-9ubuntu3) ) #30-Ubuntu SMP Thu Mar 8 17:34:21 UTC 2012

Linux popoi 3.0.0-17-generic #30-Ubuntu SMP Thu Mar 8 17:34:21 UTC 2012 i686

Gedit version:
apt-cache policy gedit
gedit:
  Installed: 3.2.3-0ubuntu0.1
  Candidate: 3.2.3-0ubuntu0.1
  Version table:

 3.2.0-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages

Set up:
Open gedit
Create/edit some files
Have multiple file tabs open in a single session of gedit

Switch to firefox
Want to switch back to gedit using the unity left sidebar

Expected behavior:
Gedit icon in unity sidebar should have active triangle on it's left.
Clicking gedit should show the last text document that I was working on.

Actual, buggy behavior:
Gedit icon in unity sidebar does not have an active triangle near it.
Clicking on the gedit icon successfully opens the active, existing window of
gedit, but it also opens a new tab with an untitled document, moving the focus
away from the tab with the document that was actually in the process of being
edited before switching windows.

This makes it very hard to continue editing when switching back to the
gedit window is so disruptive.

[Bug 701179] [NEW] Rythmbox icon does not open menu correctly from notification bar in Ubuntu 10.10

2011-01-10 Thread Tchalvak
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When I click the rhythmbox icon in the notification bar, instead of
showing the useful play/next/previous, quit options in a dropdown, it
shows a uselessly shortened menu with no menu text.

Essentially, a left-click only highlights the notification icon and
displays a broken shortened dropdown menu. Right click works as normal.

This also means that:
When you open the rythmbox application, it just shows as the notification icon,
which is unusable.
When you close the rythmbox application it minimizes to the notification bar
instead of actually closing, rendering it unusable.

The only workaround is to open rythmbox twice for force access to the
actual window.

[Bug 574154] Re: Lost panel in NBR after 10.04 upgrade

2010-08-10 Thread Tchalvak
Apart from the issue with the gnome-panel, which I don't have, I have
the same symptoms after an upgrade to 10.04. The windows don't maximize
or minimize, and the chrome containing the close/minimize/maximize is
unavailable. Holding down alt to try to move a window fails to work,
the window switcher app doesn't register any windows being open, and
changing focus by clicking on a window does not move it to the top.

Changing visual effects to a higher level and back down brings the
window chrome back, for at least the duration of a single reboot.

[Bug 130786] Re: [gutsy] NetworkManager Feature Request - manually trigger ssid scan

Official gnome documentation says that simply clicking the network

true bug that the upstream developers might actually want to fix.

[Bug 137247] Re: libpam-keyring broken on autologins

2008-12-18 Thread Tchalvak
This is all because the ability to unsecure and secure individual items
living in keyrings is not granular enough/not available. Wireless
passwords are a security non-issue, mine is: kurogane. Wireless
passwords (and quite likely other such keyring-ed passwords) need to be
easily passed to an unsecured category so that constant, daily
connections to a wireless network do not require inputting a password
each and every single time.
