[Bug 565939] [NEW] Autohide of bottom bar after changing desktop doesn't work
Public bug reported: Appeared on Lucid Lynx Beta 2 I enabled on both top and bottom panel bars of gnome desktop the autohide function. If I click on the bottom bar to switch to another desktop and "leave" the bar with the mouse arrow, the bottom bar does not hide automatically. To make the bottom bar hide again, I need to move the mouse over the bottom bar and "leave" it again. (If it was JavaScript, I'd guess it's missing the "MouseOut" event of the buttom bar) ** Affects: gnome-desktop (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Autohide of bottom bar after changing desktop doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/565939 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-desktop in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 400867] [NEW] Exiting Gimp results in crashing window manager
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gimp Happens when I open http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ac/Stofferenblik.jpg (so far any other jpg/ image?), crop the image to selection, close the image without saving and exit gimp. The "window manager" (not sure about that term) seems to crash - _every_ window gets relocated to the first virtual desktop, desktop effects no longer work (eg the "wobbling windows", or the cube-effect when switching between desktops). gdb log shows nothing unusual, gimp-dbg package installed, nevertheless I will add that log to this bug. When I try to record this with xvid-cap, the crash does not happen. I will add this screencast to this bug, there's nothing unusual though. But it shows exactly which steps I make to reproduce the error (if xvid-cap was not running) I have a Geforce 6600, using nvidia driver v180 installed via ubuntu, no manual installed driver. [Bug 380386] Re: Mahjongg: Unsolvable status of puzzle no longer recognized?
Thanks for your response. Yes, this is reproducible, so far this only occured at puzzles called "the ziggurat". You just need to solve some of these puzzles until you reach a status similar to the screencast. If mahjongg is supposed to recognize an unsolvable status, it may have something to do with the fact that the stones in the screencast are not "at the bottom", but on a higher layer, forming some kind of bridge, see attachment. ** Attachment added: "Mahjongg - Der Ziggurat.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/27429139/Mahjongg%20-%20Der%20Ziggurat.png -- Mahjongg: Unsolvable status of puzzle no longer recognized? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/380386 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank _you_ :-) If I may suggest something for the future: If a user reports something on launchpad, then he doesn't really know what else he should do. For most users, I think it's a big step to report something here. And if they're told "that's something to be send upstream" they don't know what upstream actually is and whether its their responsibility to send it there. When in doubt, they will just don't do anything. I'm sure the user would really appreciate if you'd use the same message over and over again, maybe something like (taken from https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/f-spot/+bug/342885/comments/1 ) "Since this is an enhancement request, may you send this upstream directly to http://bugzilla.gnome.org? That's where the project actually is been driven, Ubuntu just makes a "copy" of that on a regular basis. For further instructions please have a look to http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME . If you're unable to do so (for any reasons), please tell us. Thanks in advance." [Bug 348699] Re: cosinus right after startup won't work
I think the problem is that after the start, gcalc internally stores "0" as last computed result. If you compute something, press "=", then you get the result. If you press "cos" right after that, cosinus will use the value just computed in the last computation. -- cosinus right after startup won't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348699 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gcalctool in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 348699] Re: cosinus right after startup won't work
Like I said, it's important to do this right after the start of gcalc. When I press "cos" right after the start, the display says "cos(0)", all succeeding operations, e.g. like those you proposed, before "=" will cause an error. See attachment. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I'm having problems like this for several days now (running Jaunty) Evolution is very unstable. In the first screenshot you see at the top a list of mails I asked Evolution to delete some hours ago. Still no difference :-/ At the bottom, you see the status messages, they haven't changed for hours, too. When I had a look at the System monitor, I saw that the process "tracker-indexer" uses 50% CPU for some hours now(with high nice, so it's not that bad). I opened the "opened files" for this process, as you can see in the second screenshot. [Bug 342885] [NEW] Idea: Evolution integration for tags?
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot Hi, I'd like to propose an idea that came to my mind, I hope this is the right place to do this. If it's not, I'm sorry :-) Since Evolution is well integrated in Ubuntu, I thought it would be nice if f-spot would do just like it: Persons in evolution's contacts and events in evolution's calendar could automatically be mapped to tags in F-Spot. This way, you wouldn't have to keep both lists up to date. (In f-spot, I have among others the tags "persons", which contain persons that are on my photos, and "events", which contains events my photos were taken on. I guess this is quite common) I don't know if and how this is applicable, but I think that this really would be a nice feature :-) Greets, Tiefflieger ** Affects: f-spot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Idea: Evolution integration for tags? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/342885 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to f-spot in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I came up with a small problem installing the new export though: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/f-spot/+bug/237974 Additionally, when I try "Export to -> Folder" and I choose "Create gallery using "Original"", I still get the following error: System.NullReference Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at FSpotFolderExport.FolderExport.Upload() [0x0] -- f-spot fails to export to a Folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/235071 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 237974] [NEW] F-Spot: Managing extension succeeds after a few tries only
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot Appeared on Up-to-date Ubuntu Hardy Heron AMD 64, F-Spot 0.4.3.1 (all german). According to the fix as described in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/f-spot/+bug/235071 I tried to install the new Folder-Export function. (I disabled the old and tried to install some or all of the export extensions). First, f-spot just told me that the installation failed, after a few retries f-spot came up with the warning you can see in the image attached. Now, f-spot hasn't a problem at all with (un- & re-) installing the new folder export. Besides, is there a way to enable some kind of error-log? Because F-Spot uses to crash randomly without any errormessages :-/ ** Affects: f-spot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- F-Spot: Managing extension succeeds after a few tries only https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/237974 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to f-spot in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 235303] [NEW] F-spots reloads image and resets zoom after tagging
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot When I'm in "View & Edit" Mode, the image gets reloaded everytime I add a tag to it. Is that really necessary? In my understanding, f-spot just updates its database and not the image itself. That makes tagging of big images (> 6 Megapixel) quite a big job for the pc (my pc: Doublecore AMD 64, 2GB RAM), and another anoying effect is that the zoom gets reset, too. ** Affects: f-spot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- F-spots reloads image and resets zoom after tagging https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/235303 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to f-spot in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 219683] [NEW] gstreamer-properties crashes with segmentation fault
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-media Just bought myself a very cheap webcam (Tchibo, WinXP recognized it as "USB PC Camera-168"). I installed cheese, but the image was too dark, barely visible. So I looked up the FAQ of cheese, and according to them I tried running gstreamer-properties to change the settings.
