[Bug 565939] [NEW] Autohide of bottom bar after changing desktop doesn't work

2010-04-18 Thread Tiefflieger
Public bug reported:

Appeared on Lucid Lynx Beta 2

I enabled on both top and bottom panel bars of gnome desktop the autohide
function.
If I click on the bottom bar to switch to another desktop and "leave" the bar
with the mouse arrow, the bottom bar does not hide automatically.

To make the bottom bar hide again, I need to move the mouse over the
bottom bar and "leave" it again.

(If it was JavaScript, I'd guess it's missing the "MouseOut" event of
the buttom bar)

[Bug 355636] Re: Mahjongg: Wrong behaviour of buttons "Pause" and "Resume"

2010-04-17 Thread Tiefflieger
Not quite :-)
When You launch Mahjongg and start Your first game by deleting the first pair
of stones, both buttons "Pause Game" and "Resume Game" are visible and active.

If You click "Resume Game", the game gets paused and the buttons behave
/ appear as they should, even if You start a new game (without exiting
and re-launching the game).

Actually I needed Nautilus with root rights, as "SBackup" stores its backup

Should I file a bug against sbackup instead or did I do something else wrong?

[Bug 400867] [NEW] Exiting Gimp results in crashing window manager

2009-07-17 Thread Tiefflieger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gimp

Happens when I open
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ac/Stofferenblik.jpg (so
far any other jpg/ image?), crop the image to selection, close the image
without saving and exit gimp. The "window manager" (not sure about that
term) seems to crash - _every_ window gets relocated to the first
virtual desktop, desktop effects no longer work (eg the "wobbling
windows", or the cube-effect when switching between desktops).

gdb log shows nothing unusual, gimp-dbg package installed, nevertheless I will
add that log to this bug.
When I try to record this with xvid-cap, the crash does not happen. I will add
this screencast to this bug, there's nothing unusual though. But it shows
exactly which steps I make to reproduce the error (if xvid-cap was not running)

I have a Geforce 6600, using nvidia driver v180 installed via ubuntu, no manual
installed driver.
Ubuntu Jaunty 64bit, doing daily upgrades.

[Bug 380386] Re: Mahjongg: Unsolvable status of puzzle no longer recognized?

2009-06-02 Thread Tiefflieger
Thanks for your response.

Yes, this is reproducible, so far this only occured at puzzles called
"the ziggurat". You just need to solve some of these puzzles until you
reach a status similar to the screencast.

If mahjongg is supposed to recognize an unsolvable status, it may have
something to do with the fact that the stones in the screencast are not
"at the bottom", but on a higher layer, forming some kind of bridge, see
attachment.

[Bug 355636] [NEW] Mahjongg: Wrong behaviour of buttons "Pause" and "Resume"

2009-04-05 Thread Tiefflieger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-games

See Screencast: When I start Mahjongg, both buttons "Pause" and "Resume" (in my
german version, they are called "Pause" and "Fortsetzen") are displayed, resume
is not greyed out.
When I start a new game, the appearance is like I think it's supposed to be:
Only the Pause button is visible, but greyed out.

Furthermore, the size for the first 3 Buttons (ie "New", "Restart" and
"Pause" or "Resume") in the button bar seems to change when I pause /
resume a game, which is needless and a little ugly in my eyes.

So I don't think it's a duplicate of Bug #300761 . I will remove the tag, but

there was no warning that the Folder "Photos" doesn't exist, nor it has
been created.

[Bug 351801] Re: Right-Click on image file for import

2009-04-01 Thread Tiefflieger
Thank _you_ :-)
If I may suggest something for the future:

If a user reports something on launchpad, then he doesn't really know what else
he should do. For most users, I think it's a big step to report something here.
And if they're told "that's something to be send upstream" they don't know what
upstream actually is and whether its their responsibility to send it there.
When in doubt, they will just don't do anything.
I'm sure the user would really appreciate if you'd use the same message over
and over again, maybe something like (taken from
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/f-spot/+bug/342885/comments/1 )
"Since this is an enhancement request, may you send this upstream directly to
http://bugzilla.gnome.org? That's where the project actually is been driven,
Ubuntu just makes a "copy" of that on a regular basis.
For further instructions please have a look to
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME .
If you're unable to do so (for any reasons), please tell us.
Thanks in advance."

At least the user would exactly know what he's expected to do ;-)

[Bug 348699] Re: cosinus right after startup won't work

2009-03-26 Thread Tiefflieger
I think the problem is that after the start, gcalc internally stores "0" as
last computed result.
If you compute something, press "=", then you get the result. If you press
"cos" right after that, cosinus will use the value just computed in the last
computation.

[Bug 348699] Re: cosinus right after startup won't work

2009-03-25 Thread Tiefflieger
Like I said, it's important to do this right after the start of gcalc.
When I press "cos" right after the start, the display says "cos(0)", all
succeeding operations, e.g. like those you proposed, before "=" will cause an
error. See attachment.

If I do the same after some calculations, gcalc behaves just as expected
and I can enter commands like you said.

[Bug 346550] [NEW] Evolution hangs - Tracker busy at 50%

2009-03-21 Thread Tiefflieger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I'm having problems like this for several days now (running Jaunty)

Evolution is very unstable. In the first screenshot you see at the top a
list of mails I asked Evolution to delete some hours ago. Still no
difference :-/ At the bottom, you see the status messages, they haven't
changed for hours, too.

When I had a look at the System monitor, I saw that the process
"tracker-indexer" uses 50% CPU for some hours now(with high nice, so
it's not that bad). I opened the "opened files" for this process, as you
can see in the second screenshot. It shows that the process has opened
many files of evolution, so there might be some connection.

[Bug 342885] [NEW] Idea: Evolution integration for tags?

2009-03-14 Thread Tiefflieger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

Hi,
I'd like to propose an idea that came to my mind, I hope this is the right
place to do this. If it's not, I'm sorry :-)

Since Evolution is well integrated in Ubuntu, I thought it would be nice if
f-spot would do just like it:
Persons in evolution's contacts and events in evolution's calendar could
automatically be mapped to tags in F-Spot. This way, you wouldn't have to keep
both lists up to date. (In f-spot, I have among others the tags "persons",
which contain persons that are on my photos, and "events", which contains
events my photos were taken on. I guess this is quite common)

I don't know if and how this is applicable, but I think that this really
would be a nice feature :-)

Greets,

Tiefflieger

[Bug 306980] Re: Immediate crash after Start of Totem

2008-12-20 Thread Tiefflieger
Totem crashes again in the session I'm currently on. All I did was logon, start
evolution, firefox3 and google-earth.
I don't know if its of any matter, but sometimes (just like right now) my
google-earth is far too slow to use it (aproximatly 1 frame per 3 seconds). So
maybe its really related to my video driver?
(I'm using nvidia v177.82 installed via hardware-drivers on 64 bit Ubuntu)
the only errors in /var/log/Xorg.0.log are the following lines:

(WW) Warning, couldn't open module type1
(II) UnloadModule: "type1"
(EE) Failed to load module "type1" (module does not exist, 0)

everything else seems to work just fine, I appreciate any help on how I
could track down the source of my problem :-)

The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 73 error_code 11 request_code 141 minor_code 19)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

The problem occurs with any video, the video in the attachment was taken
with a Canon Ixus 65, encoded with OggConvert with default settings. It
is about a second long.

[Bug 235303] Re: F-spots reloads image and resets zoom after tagging

An additional note:
In the preferences, "store metadata in files" (in german: "Metadaten in Dateien
schreiben") is deactivated.

Anyway I wonder what this option excactly does: Do the metadata get
stored in the (e.g. jpeg) images themselves instead or additionally to
the f-spot database?

[Bug 238379] [NEW] Export to Picasa causes F-spot to crash

2008-06-08 Thread tiefflieger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

Happened on f-spot 0.4.3.1, Ubuntu Hardy AMD 64, all german.

I just enabled Picasa in my googlemail-account and tried to upload a picture to
it in f-spot. So I clicked on "Photo" -> "Export to" -> "Picasa" -> "Add
Gallery" and entered my googlemail-username and pw. after I clicked on "Add",
f-spot just crashed.
I tried to open f-spot via console, and I got the following:

thx from me for that work, too.
I came up with a small problem installing the new export though:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/f-spot/+bug/237974

Additionally, when I try "Export to -> Folder" and I choose "Create gallery
using "Original"", I still get the following error:

object at FSpotFolderExport.FolderExport.Upload() [0x0]

[Bug 237974] [NEW] F-Spot: Managing extension succeeds after a few tries only

2008-06-06 Thread tiefflieger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

Appeared on Up-to-date Ubuntu Hardy Heron AMD 64, F-Spot 0.4.3.1 (all german).
According to the fix as described in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/f-spot/+bug/235071 I tried to install
the new Folder-Export function. (I disabled the old and tried to install some
or all of the export extensions).
First, f-spot just told me that the installation failed, after a few retries
f-spot came up with the warning you can see in the image attached. Now, f-spot
hasn't a problem at all with (un- & re-) installing the new folder export.

Besides, is there a way to enable some kind of error-log? Because F-Spot
uses to crash randomly without any errormessages :-/

[Bug 235303] [NEW] F-spots reloads image and resets zoom after tagging

2008-05-27 Thread tiefflieger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

When I'm in "View & Edit" Mode, the image gets reloaded everytime I add
a tag to it. Is that really necessary? In my understanding, f-spot just
updates its database and not the image itself. That makes tagging of big
images (> 6 Megapixel) quite a big job for the pc (my pc: Doublecore AMD
64, 2GB RAM), and another anoying effect is that the zoom gets reset,
too.
