[Bug 570525] Re: When inserting a blank disk, menu is not convenient

2011-08-07 Thread Timothy Fridey
You should report this upstream at: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/

Also you should report bugs individually e.g.

Bug 1: The remaining free space when adding files cannot be seen.

Bug 2: Menu options are not convenient

[Bug 137527] Re: Totem should notify users about installing libdvdread3 and libdvdcss2 to read encrypted DVD

2011-08-01 Thread Timothy Fridey
The original bug post was about making this problem easier to solve for
beginners.

The message at this time was: "Error occured, unable to read from the
resource"

It is now: "Could not read DVD. This may be because the DVD is encrypted
and a DVD decryption library is not installed."

I think this is enough to close this bug as the user now has enough
information to start googling a solution.

I don't think that telling the user to install libdvdcss2 is necessarily
the right thing to do as it is not the only option they have, and also
there is the legal issues surrounding it. Other options include buying a
commercial DVD player from the Ubuntu store.

[Bug 301035] Re: Place an Ubuntu icon/emblem on the system partition

2011-07-31 Thread Timothy Fridey
The upstream does not say that a change to Nautilus would be a hack. It
says that the patch to gvfs should be submitted in the gvfs bug tracker.

The change needs to be made it both projects in order to have a
consitent icon. The current icon is hard coded in both projects and
therefore should be changed in both.

I have opened a new bug upstream in gvfs here:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=655692

[Bug 815726] [NEW] Link to folder on windows partition should remount device or at least give better message

2011-07-25 Thread Timothy Fridey
Public bug reported:

I created a link to a folder on my NTFS partition, when the partition is
unmounted (usually when the computer first starts) the link is reported
as broken. When you click the link it gives you the option to delete the
link.

However if I remount the partition the link works perfectly. It would be
nice if nautilus was smart enough to be able to remount the partition
automagically when I click on the link. Or give the option to remount,
or at the very least give a message that you need to remount.
