[Bug 1505070] Re: gnome-session-quit --power-off produces immediate shutdown
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1426851 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1426851 Sebastion's comment led me to test my commonly used applications to see if one was responsible for this issue. I found that the issue always occurs if I have Krusader open (i.e. computer shuts down immediately). And yes, Krusader does use qt. If I close Krusader before triggering the command "gnome-session-quit --power-off", then the dialog box appears as it should normally. It seems reasonable to mark this bug as a duplicate of bug #1426851. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1426851 Power button shuts down computer if a Qt application is running -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1505070 Title: gnome-session-quit --power-off produces immediate shutdown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/1505070/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1505070] Re: gnome-session-quit --power-off produces immediate shutdown
Thanks Sebastian. I don't know how to identify a full list of applications using qt - any suggestions? I know I have several qt applications installed that I use occasionally e.g. Amarok, Kid3-qt. However, the shutdown issue does occur in sessions where I haven't actively opened these applications. I use VLC regularly but not always; a comment in bug #1426851 suggests this shouldn't be related. [Bug 1505070] [NEW] gnome-session-quit --power-off produces immediate shutdown
Public bug reported: I am finding that sometimes when I use the command "gnome-session-quit --power-off", it results in immediate shutdown, even though it should (and usually does) result in a dialog box with options for shutdown, reboot, and suspend. Getting a shutdown when a suspend is sought is problematic. [Bug 1252095] [NEW] Bookmarks Not Visible
Public bug reported: Some existing bookmarks do not show in Nautilus on startup. Most of my bookmarks are associated with data on a USB stick, and were created before updating OS from 13.04 to 13.10. These bookmarks do not show on startup, even though the device (CRUZ64) is visible and mounted. When I go to Files Bookmarks, I can see the bookmarks. When I single click, I can see their file locations. When I double click, Nautilus crashes. Upon restart, the bookmarks are all visible and usable in the Nautilus side-pane i.e. problem gone! [Bug 1192021] [NEW] Mouse and touchpad settings not recalled after logging out and then logging in again
Public bug reported: Under Ubuntu 13.04, I'm finding I can change mouse and touchpad speed settings using the Settings Window (System Settings Mouse and Touchpad). These changes are retained after closing the Settings Window. However, the changes to the settings are NOT SHOWN on re-opening the Settings Window. Instead, the default values are shown. More importantly, the changes are not retained after logging out. When I log in again, the settings have returned to their default values. I experimented with changing mouse speed settings using xinput, and found, similarly, that these changes affected the current session but weren't retained for future sessions. A similar problem is reported under Bug #1176035, and I will likely append this bug to that report. However, that user reports (perhaps mistakenly?) that changes to mouse speed settings are not retained after closing the Settings Window. [Bug 586200] [NEW] Can't Add New Contacts When Offline from MS Exchange Server
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Whilst using a locally synchronized contacts folder associated with an MS Exchange Server in off-line mode, I am not able to add new contacts.
