[Bug 137247] Re: libpam-keyring broken on autologins
Sebastien: fr me on 8.10, it also does not work. I set it up by applications>accessories>passwords and encryption keys, there I go edit>preferences>password keyrings* - I have got two keyrings there, login and default, when I try to set them to blank (i.e I type in the old password and leave the new one blank), a dialog to confirm it is unsafe appears, I confirm it and then CPU usage goes to 100% and I have to kill seahorse - password is not changed. I thought it was special to my system, so I did not report it, a mistake as it seems as cenora is also affected. * [by the way, is it not against HIG to put them under preferences? it seems rather insane to me] -- libpam-keyring broken on autologins https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/137247 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 224276] [NEW] nautilus unable to open properties from context menu of an .mkv file
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I have many Matroska (.mkv extension) files on my computer. After a recent install of Hardy Heron, when rightclicking on a matroska file (be it named mkv or not, the importatnt part is that it is matrosko, if it is renamed .avi, it works allright) and selecting properties, a strange dialog appears (see attached screenshot) saying Creating properties window. Chad, Marcus - alternatively to what Leszek writes, you can start gnome- keyring-manager, delete the keyring and create a new one. [Bug 14774] Re: [shares-admin] Shared folders requires a login
Oh yeah, that would have an affect. Sharing would start to work out of the box, only it would be rather unsecure (onyone on the LAN (and possibly even the internet) could access your shares). I do not think this should be default but it should be easily accessible alongside the possibility to setup samba accounts and passwords However, that would probably need someone to implement it... -- [shares-admin] Shared folders requires a login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/14774 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a subscriber of a duplicate bug. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 224276] Re: nautilus unable to open properties from context menu of an .mkv file
totem-xine does not help here (and yeah, the thumbnails do not get created and totem has problems with my mkv files altogehter, but that is beside the point, unless it points out that the issue might be burried a little bit deeper) -- nautilus unable to open properties from context menu of an .mkv file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224276 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 228196] Re: gdm and keyboard layout switch
I assume this is a bug in gnome-keyboard-properties, which is in gnome- control-center package. [Bug 228196] Re: gdm and keyboard layout switch
I googled a bit and found that is is actually a bug in xserver and that it is known upstream (see http://blogs.gnome.org/sudaltsov/2008/05/27 /keyboard-is-not-configured-in-gnome-in-some-cases for acknowledgement from the developer of gnome-keyboard-config). I hope I got the links to other projects and bugs right. Oh, and from the other bug report - there is a workaround. Run setxkbmap -print | xkbcomp - $DISPLAY and everything works as it should. Sebastien: I do not think so. That thumbnails do not get created, yes, that might be a totem issue.
