[Bug 1880305] [NEW] Failed to mount Windows share: Software caused connection abort
Public bug reported: Since upgrading from 19.10 to 20.04 I cannot access folders on my NAS. What happens: In Nautilus (1:3.36.2-0ubuntu1) I do the following 1. Go to Other Locations 2. Click on Windows Network 3. Double Click on WORKGROUP 4. Double Click on DYLAN (the NAS at 192.168.1.5) 5. [Bug 1588994] Re: Location not working since OTA-11 on BQ 4.5
I think you may be right, Henry. I went out on a walk along a country lane this afternoon and decided to try out uNav. I don't think that app expects the device to have a location to hand to it when it starts. Your press an icon in the header to determine you current location, and it worked. As I walked up the lane my position changed automatically. I then found that Google and Here maps showed up my location automatically on start up without complaining. Nearby scope also began to work. So is all well? Probably, but location is a bit flaky. I did a restart and initially Google maps complained that location wasn't working, but in a minute or two it came up with my location without any further action on my part. Nearby scope needed a refresh for it to find me. So, grudgingly, I'm going to say that location is working (although not as seamlessly as on my Android phone). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to location-service in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1588994 Title: Location not working since OTA-11 on BQ 4.5 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/location-service/+bug/1588994/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I agree with you Max, and we shouldn't have to get used to it. @Bilal Empathy and xchat are quite different. By recent versions of Ubuntu, I mean the last 4 or 5 versions of Ubuntu - am currently on version 11.04. The comment about MSN removing its servers is very old news. I don't know why the Protocols Support list still refers to it as it certainly is not the current reason why MSN AV chat is non-functional over a WAN. As I said, it is completely functional on a local area network. It is my understanding that both Empathy and aMSN use the package python-papyon. So when aMSN 0.99 arrives with full AV chat, Empathy will have it too. [Bug 603526] Re: new conversation notifications are hidden until I open the conversation
My testing (in Lucid) seems to shown that notifications happen when the windows are minimised to the task bar, but not when when they are unminimised and out of focus. Evolution provides new mail notifications when it is out of focus and unminimised. But things are more complicated with Empathy as there is a Contact List window and a possible Conversation window. [Bug 587689] Re: No window decoration if Visual Effects = None
Hi Leo Yes, I upgraded from Karmic to Lucid, and after that upgrade I could not boot normally (only in rescue mode using a Karmic kernel and then only in a console). So the /home that I retained, when I re-installed, was from that dist-upgrade. In /home I have profiles for myself and my wife. Having had to redo my Live system on the USB key, this problem came back. It looks like empathy tries to create a 'default' keyring and sort of fails. [Bug 267371] Re: [gvfs] [smb] Damaged OpenOffice files from samba shares
Can you try a test with my Polly2.odg? Copy it onto your NAS share, open it in OOo, delete two frames, save it. Close OOo. Open the saved file from Nautilus by double clicking it. Is it OK? Do you know what OS your NAS box uses? -- [gvfs] [smb] Damaged OpenOffice files from samba shares https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267371 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 267371] Re: [gvfs] [smb] Damaged OpenOffice files from samba shares
I have tested using Karmic and OpenOffice.org-core 1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1 (taken from the Help About box). My standard test using the file Polly2.odg (see #14 above) opened from a Windows XP SP3 network share, deleted 2 frames and saved back to the network share. I did not find a problem. I did the update you referred to first. The remote network share was mounted first as a CIFS filesystem by accessing it in Nautilus. How are are you NAS box's shares mounted? Is you OOo version the same? [Bug 505676] [NEW] Audio or Video information/options not available for MSN
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: empathy As shown in http://library.gnome.org/users/empathy/stable/audio-video.html.en_GB Empathy should show that a contact has a web cam and microphone available. It does not. It also does not give the Video and Audio options in the Contact menu. They are greyed out. The contact is using Widows Live Messenger ver 14.0 and Windows XP. [Bug 267371] Re: [gvfs] [smb] Damaged OpenOffice files from samba shares
As far as I can tell, the original bug reported by Sophie is fixed in Jaunty with OOo 3.0.1. I have conducted my standard test saving a large odg file to a an XP share and re-opening it.
