[Bug 1944581] Re: Session preference not respected; Wayland session started despite Xorg being selected
Would it as such be preferred to open a new bug on this issue? The PPA was removed from the system yet the issue persists. Another system log from the system by default is attached. ** Attachment added: "journal on system with default packages" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1944581/+attachment/5529834/+files/journal.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1944581 Title: Session preference not respected; Wayland session started despite Xorg being selected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1944581/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1944581] Re: Session preference not respected; Wayland session started despite Xorg being selected
Hello, Thank you for your comments. The system log is included. The user is logged in. I have verified that Xorg was already selected on the login prompt, though I did not perform the explicit re-selecting that is required to actually register the preference. As a result, the Wayland session was started, despite Xorg showing as the preferred session. ** Attachment added: "journal.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1944581/+attachment/5527665/+files/journal.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1944581 Title: Session preference not respected; Wayland session started despite Xorg being selected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1944581/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1944581] [NEW] Session preference not respected; Wayland session started despite Xorg being selected
Public bug reported: Session preference, in this case, is ignored in two scenarios: * Cold boot, first log in: Even when Xorg session is picked through the cog menu in the bottom right, Wayland session is started. Only when explicitly re-selecting Xorg from this session picker, despite being selected and displaying as selected already, the Xorg session is registered as the preferred one. * Gnome session crash ("Oh no! Something has gone wrong" error). After restoring session, Wayland starts by default, despite initially choosing Xorg session. [Bug 157778] [gutsy] Crashing with "Deskbar has unexpectedly quit"
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: deskbar-applet After doing a couple or so searches via the deskbar applet, I am often getting this error, asking me whether I want deskbar-applet to reload or not. Some time after reloading, it crashes again. I've got this happening several times over several machine reboots, so the crashes seem to be often enough to be a significant problem. This is on Ubuntu 7.10 final, fully updated. ** Affects: deskbar-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [gutsy] Crashing with "Deskbar has unexpectedly quit" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/157778 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for deskbar-applet in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
