[Bug 1384249] [NEW] Display settings are not saved after reboot

2014-10-22 Thread Uri Shabtay
Public bug reported:

Clean Ubuntu GNOME install of 14.04.

Two displays connected - an DVI FHD monitor + HDMI HD TV
When settings up mirror displays everything works nicely, yet after a reboot
the settings aren't saved, and I'm back with two desktops for each display,
which require me to configure it all over again.

IMO it's a papercut type of bug.

[Bug 127732] Re: Searching Hebrew text works in reverse order

2011-03-21 Thread Uri Shabtay
after a TRUE test, i realized the following:

Adobe Reader version 9.4.2 (Feb. 11, 2011) can recognize the Hebrew text within
the search as is, without typing it backwards.
Evince, however, cannot. Therefore we're back to square one.

[Bug 404363] Re: desktop icons aren't aligned automatically in RTL languages (Hebrew, Arabic, Persian)

+ In my Mom's computer the localization is in Hebrew, meaning that all menus,
folders, and Desktop icons are RTL.
As an End-User, every time my Mom downloads something, or drags a
file/shortcut to the desktop, the icon doesn't align itself to the grid of the
other icons automatically, but instead lands in one area (usually the top
right).

- Yet, the bug doesn't stop there. If that icon is left there, the upcoming

[Bug 568710] [NEW] adding new pointer theme doesn't show on desktop and panels

2010-04-22 Thread Uri Shabtay
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gconf

hey guys,

after adding my favorite custom pointer theme (as usual, since 7.10),
ComixCursors from gnome-look.org (http://gnome-
look.org/content/show.php/ComixCursors?content=32627), i noticed i don't
see it within the desktop/panels. the pointer is only shown on running
application windows (firefox, openoffice, etc.)

i know i usually need to logout/restart, but even after that, nothing changed,
for some reason..
had this issue after upgrading to 10.04 beta 2 from 9.10 and also after a CLEAN
INSTALL of the RC today.

the extremely weird part was when i wanted to post pics. although i see
the default Ubuntu pointer when hovering at the desktop (to compare the
customized pointer in the firefox window), inside the screenshot i see
the customized pointer just fine (!?)

will enjoy all the help i can get..

thanks in advance

folks please,

I'm not using a RTL locale in my laptop. i like the English the way it
is, along the Hebrew and Arabic support. why can't we upload upstream
the original request..? with all due respect to the bug, this is too
simple to solve, not to mention we don't need all of these repetitions

i doubt neither will do anything better. since this bug in the first
place has been addressed as 'invalid', nothing, IMHO will change. all i
hope is that the RTL issue will be resolved, due to the fact my Mom will
find it simpler to handle when she'll upgrade to 10.04
