Unfortunately, i do not know how to close the bug. I have logged in to
lauchpad but can't find such an option
under the bug

Binary package hint: gcalctool

Gcalctool V5.29.2 in Programming mode

If a value is entered (eg in base 10), the method to view it in a different 
base (eg in base 16) is not obvious  / not available
Clicking on the base buttons simply adds the base subscript

Conversion between bases was possible in previous versions of gcalctool
eg Version 5.22.3 in Ubuntu 8.04

Confirmed. It does not work under the beta release of 8.4 either.

[Did work under Ubuntu 6.06 and 7.10]

I use the same shortcuts as Sebastian Bergmann

When searching for open files and the name field starts with OR contains
only an asterisk '*', gnome system-monitor closes.

Error is :

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Glib::RegexError'
Aborted (core dumped)

If other characters precede the asterisk then no 'crash'
