[Bug 335320] Re: Evince unable to open zip/rar comic files

2009-05-27 Thread Viktor Kojouharov
@Pedro Villavicencio

This is kind of a late reply, but that logic seems a bit off. Evince
already has some way of determining whether a cb[z|r] can be opened or
not. If you rename a zip file that contains images to cbr (rar), it will
still open it. If you rename another type of file to cbz (or a zip file
without images in it), then it will display an error.

So what's the problem then? If evince just tries to open any zip files
as if they are cbz files, any current behaviour will still work without
any newly introduced regressions. If the zip file is not really a cbz,
it will throw an error just like it does now (which also proves that
there is some support for figuring out what exactly the file is). Maybe
this bug should be reopened.

[Bug 335320] [NEW] Evince unable to open zip/rar comic files

2009-02-27 Thread Viktor Kojouharov
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

Evince cannot open comic files that end in zip or rar. However, it can
open files that end in cbz/cbr, and if a zip file full of images in
renamed so that it ends in cbz for instance, evince will open it
correctly.

It should be possible for evince to test whether an archive file has
only images, and display it properly, instead of showing an 'Unable to
open document' error.

[Bug 334824] [NEW] google calendar source regression

2009-02-26 Thread Viktor Kojouharov
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

There seems to be a regression in the way google calendar sources are
added to the evolution calendar.

With evolution versions in Intrepid, bringing up a new calendar dialog
allows for typing in the username and password for the google accound.

With the version that is shipped with Jaunty Alpha, the only input area
in the dialog is for the name of the calendar itself. There are no
fields for adding a username/password.

I don't see how it could possibly be privileges, because:

1. everything works fine with the previous version of gvfs
2. why would it stop me from accessing the trash? it's in ~/.local/share

Also, this problem happens on three different computers which use the
hardy-updates repository.

All the systems are generic ubuntu installs. All the update sources in
the 'Software Sources' are enabled. And all of them were updated
whenever updates were present. There's nothing out of the ordinary in
them

As far as that testing goes, this output is for 0.2.4:

[Bug 239551] Re: nautilus connect to server dialog empty

2008-06-16 Thread Viktor Kojouharov
I found out what causes it.

There is a problem with the gvfs and/or gvfs-backends package in hardy-
updates (0.2.4). Once these are upgraded, nautilus loses its knowledge
of anything other than file://

Should I start another bug somewhere for these packages?

[Bug 239551] [NEW] nautilus connect to server dialog empty

2008-06-12 Thread Viktor Kojouharov
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04.1 with the following nautilus and gvfs packages:

  Installed: 1:2.22.3-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 1:2.22.3-0ubuntu2
  Version table:

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 0.2.3-0ubuntu4 0
500 http://ubuntu.ipacct.com hardy/main Packages

The problem I'm experiencing is that Nautilus lost its ability to access
any URI other than file://.

Because of this, the following problems arise:

1. Nautilus cannot access URIs begining with smb://, ssh://, ftp://, dav://, etc
2. The Connect to server dialog contains the Custom location as the only
service type
3. Going to the Trash from Places hangs Nautilus (while using 100% CPU)
