[Bug 1243517] [NEW] error copying files off camera

2013-10-22 Thread Ian Booth
Public bug reported:

I upgraded from raring to saucy and now I cannot copy photos off my
camera. The camera mounts ok and I can navigate to the files. I select a
file, copy it, and when it is pasted, an error occurs: Operation not
supported by backend. This appears to me to be a regression in saucy as
it worked just fine in raring before I upgraded.

[Bug 771896] Re: No way to save current session

2011-05-06 Thread Ian Booth
I'm a KDE user and having just tried Unity for the first time am also
affected by this issue. I really miss this feature. The forum thread
mentioned in an earlier comment implies there are technical issues.
Since KDE seems to manage to implement it successfully, could we look at
how it is implemented there and do something similar?

[Bug 627900] [NEW] Saved passwords cannot be copied directly to clipboard

2010-09-01 Thread Will Booth
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: seahorse

Passwords that have been manually saved in seahorse cannot be retrieved
without showing the password. In many cases simply populating the
clipboard is the end goal anyway, and directly populating it would
remove the problems associated with shoulder surfing

[Bug 438016] [NEW] Evolution is not pulling birthdays, or other items on the personal information tab from Google Contacts

2009-09-28 Thread Will Booth
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Evolution is not retrieving the birthdays, or other items on the personal
information tab for contacts, when the address book source is Google contacts.
The entire personal information page of the contact is uneditable.

It is possible to edit birthdays and other items on the personal information
tab on purely local contacts.
Google contacts has fields for most of the items on that page.

Package: evolution-data-server
Version: 2.28.0-0ubuntu1

Package: evolution
Version: 2.28.0-0ubuntu2

Description:Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release:9.10

I expected evolution to map the Google Contacts field to the correct
evolution contact fields.

[Bug 356849] [NEW] Long window title causes panel to crash

2009-04-07 Thread Simon Booth
Public bug reported:

I had two tabs open in firefox: http://slashdot.org/ and
http://blog.oup.com/2009/03/science-fiction/

With each tab active, the corresponding window titles were News for
nerds, stuff that matters (16) - Mozilla Firefox and Nine Words You
Might Think Came from Science but Which Are Really from Science
Fiction

...

With the second tab active, gnome-panel crashes, is relaunched, crashes
again, and so on. Switching back to the first tab stops it, switching
back to the second starts it again.

It's probably that that particular URL was linked to from slashdot, so a
lot of people will have encountered the bug for the first time today.

also, I don't have permission to see the bug this is a duplicate of, so
I had no way of knowing whether it was a duplicate or not. Could that
bug be made public?

[Bug 116990] Re: Rhythmbox sound problems (clicking/snapping/crackling) when not using crossfading backend

2007-10-09 Thread Simon Booth
Same here; Gutsy beta, 2.6.22-13-generic kernel, NVidia MCP51 audio.
Also heard in flash video.

Crossfading workaround fixes rhythmbox, but there's no equivalent fix
for flash.
