[Bug 609089] Re: xkill kills all gnome-terminal instances

2010-07-26 Thread Willem Ligtenberg
Hi Dave,
It sounds as though you are saying: It is not a bug, it is a feature.
And that the reason to do this, is reduce memory consumption.
However, I think this is something that is pretty annoying. And I do think this
might be weird for new users. Maybe the default should be the other way around?

[Bug 609089] [NEW] xkill kills all gnome-terminal instances

2010-07-23 Thread Willem Ligtenberg
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Steps required to replicate this bug:
1) Open multiple gnome-terminal windows.
2) Use xkill (or Force Quit) to kill one of them.
3) Observe that all gnome-terminal instances instantly die.

The expected result is that only the selected instance dies.

[Bug 356081] [NEW] x2x Mouse stuck in corner

2009-04-06 Thread Willem Ligtenberg
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 337926 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/337926

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: x2x

My mouse pointer is stuck in the upper left corner of the computer that
does not have the mouse and keyboard attached. The mouse and keyboard
work fine on the computer which has them attached.

This is how I use x2x:

From the computer with mouse and keyboard I ssh -X to my laptop. (I want
to control the laptop with the keyboard and mouse from the desktop
computer) There in the ssh I type: x2x -to :0 -west

This has worked for me while using ubuntu 8.10. However upgrading to
jaunty 9.04, the mouse got stuck in the upper left corner of the laptop.

The keyboard however works fine. Both computers run 9.04 ubuntu.

Version: 1.27.svn.20060501-4 (according to ubuntu)

I have tried it also with new x2x versions from the website both 1.27
and 1.30beta. But it still persists.

This bug might be related to:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vino/+bug/337926
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-mouse/+bug/321444

After reading those bug descriptions I think it is the same bug.
However, I will file this bug and mark it as a duplicate, since x2x users might
find this bug report more quickly than the others.
