In my case, I have videos that will not play at all (though they played
fine in Lucid) and Nautilus cannot display a properties window for the
affected files. Other files play the audio but no video. Some files play
fine.

[Bug 545871] Re: [lucid] downgrade to stable 2.10

2010-04-05 Thread William Shotts
In version 2.11.2.1 (Lucid) the keyboard shortcuts for image rotation in
fullscreen mode (e, r, m) are not working. I agree that this version is
very slow compared to past versions especially when loading large images
and viewing directories containing large numbers ( 4000) of images.

[Bug 95414] Re: gedit unable to open files on samba shares (7.04 Beta)

2007-04-02 Thread William Shotts
I have some more information. When you go through gedit's menus (e.g.
File-Open location) you can open the file by entering the URL of the
share, in my case smb://twin4/ftp-install/fc-devel/rsync_update,
however, if I attenpt to run gedit from the command line with gedit
smb://twin4/ftp-install/fc-devel/rsync_update I see the same failure
as when I double click a file name in nautilus.

[Bug 95414] Re: gedit unable to open files on samba shares (7.04 Beta)

2007-03-31 Thread William Shotts
I'm using two text files for my test. One is a shell script (named
rsync_update) located in a read only public share and a plain text file
(named TACF_Notes.txt) in a writable home share. File permissions are
as follows:

-rw---  1 bshotts bshotts 303 Oct  1 09:11 /home/bshotts/TACF_Notes.txt
-rwxr--r--  1 rootroot490 Feb 12 18:31
/usr/local/share/ftp-install/fc-devel/rsync_update

The smb.conf file on the server (a CentOS 4.4 system) contains the
following definitions for the forementioned shares:

[homes]
comment = Home Directories
browseable = no
writeable = yes

[ftp-install]
comment = Install files
path = /usr/local/share/ftp-install
guest ok = yes

For reference, I popped in a Ubuntu 6.06 live CD and repeated the test.
6.06 is able to read (via nautilus) the plain text file but not the
shell script.

Also I am seeing the same behavior in Fedora 7 Test 3 ( installed on the
same machine as the Ubuntu 7.04 beta). I recall that earlier in the
test cycle, this problem did not exist. Further, my Fedora 5 system
(using KDE) has no problem with either file.

Hope this helps.
