[Bug 1765244] [NEW] gnome-control-center crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message() while testing speakers on atom 2in1

[Bug 1693964] [NEW] Menu Bar Becomes Unresponsive On Lock Screen
Public bug reported: Ubuntu Version: 16.10 and 17.04 gnome-screensaver: 3.6.1-7ubuntu5 Expected Functionality: I expect to be able to interact with the top menu bar from the lock screen in a multi-screen setup. Current Functionality: In Ubuntu 16.10 and 17.04, when locking the screen either by letting the system idle or manually locking the screen, the ability to interact with the top menu bar becomes unresponsive. The ability to switch users, shutdown the system, check battery status, view calendar, etc is no longer accessible. This has been tested on two laptops running 16.10 and one after upgrading to 17.04. Both systems have a multi-screen setup. This only happens after changing focus from the initial locked screen to another screen. As long as the mouse cursor is not moved to another screen, you can access the top menu bar. Once focus changes to another screen, all top menu bar functionality is gone until you log in as the current user. This was tested in Ubuntu 16.04 and the bug was not present. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1693964 Title: Menu Bar Becomes Unresponsive On Lock Screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/1693964/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 505765] Re: gedit problem with long lines
Hello, here is a bit of update of what Morgane reported, it seems that there are specific characters with which you can reproduce this bug like "(", "[", "{", "$", "\" ... (there may be others). When those are followed by a lot of space chars the cursor position on the screen and the position it seems to be on, aren't the same. Furthermore if you try to delete the last character you end up deleting characters that are above the cursor and the cursor itself isn't moving from its position. We explored Gedit's source code and we doubt that this is a Gtk issue. We posted a message on Gtk's bugzilla to ask them if they can confirm it is related or not. [Bug 1441241] [NEW] Ubuntu Nexus 4 does not detect location
Public bug reported: Whenever I try to locate myself, the app/scope/whatever I am using does not manage to locate me even if location detection and GPS are on. The only way I manage to locate myself is through being connected to a wireless network. I have tried using different apps and scopes that all use location data and none of them receive any GPS information unless I am on a wireless network. I never turn GPS off and I live in central London so there is no way it cannot find a GPS fix (I also have spend a lot of time outside and still no luck). I am using the OSMTouch app and it spends 20 seconds trying to locate me and comes back with Geolocation failed. This is using a Nexus 4. I have tried the current stable and devel- proposed channels. I asked on IRC this morning to find other people having issues with Nexus 4 GPS including one person who said: 'on the N4 i actually have to leave the device outside on the window shelf for 20-30 min to get GPS at all.' [Bug 689523] Re: Uninstalling Evolution through USC does not remove evolution-common
The usability problem is not the fact that an unused package is left on your computer taking up space, it is the fact that two dead menu entries are created. Imagine an "average user" browsing through the software center sees Evolution and thinks "Hey, I use Gmail and never use that program. Ill uninstall it." Later they are finding a program in their 'Office' applications and see Evolution listed. This creates confusion. An average user might think to themselves, "why is that still there? Maybe I have to delete items manually?" There is also an item left in the system preferences menu titled "Email settings" which is specific to Evolution. Clicking either of these brings up the error message: Could not launch 'Evolution' Failed to execute child process "evolution" (No such file or directory) The point is that this bug creates confusion and unnecessarily cluttered menus. I am no expert but it seems that it should be relatively easy to fix. Uninstalling evolution-common removes both the dead menu items, so the fix would be adding evolution-common to the list of packages removed when you uninstall Evolution from the software center. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/689523 Title: Uninstalling Evolution through USC does not remove evolution-common -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 572985] [NEW] backup settings option uses unhelpful yes/no dialog
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution In latest Ubuntu Lucid (YAY!) with Evolution 2.28.3 (2.28.3-0ubuntu9), if I go to backup my settings (File->Backup settings), I am presented with a File Save dialog (which is just fine), and then a dialog box warning me that I should close Evolution.
