2010-12-11 Thread Zeppe
it's not related to nvidia.

** Package changed: nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) = gnome-panel
(Ubuntu)

[Bug 521766] Re: Theme not applied on startup

2010-05-23 Thread Zeppe
I'm reopening this bug, it has been with me for ages, I decided to
investigate it recently, I enabled apport but it didn't intercept any
crash (I suspect so at least, since it didn't pop-up as it usually
does). As noted above, the problem should be related to gnome-settings-
daemon, last time I experienced the bug (5 min ago) the process wasn't
running, and launching it again solved the problem (i.e., the theme got
loaded).

May it be that gnome-settings-daemon crashes before apport gets started?
How can I work around this?

Thank you for the suggestions.

Zeppe

[Bug 426185] Re: Gnome-panel fails to load various applets

2010-01-21 Thread Zeppe
Well, I can confirm you that in Karmic it's not fixed at all.
Additionally, this is a bug that many users can experience without being
able to easily reach the relevant launchpad bug entry. I myself tried
several times to google for it, and only today I managed to land here.

Ah, I have two PCs and that happens in both of them.

[Bug 376233] Re: dvi render blurry

2009-12-02 Thread Zeppe
it looks like being a zoom-related problem. I downloaded the Intro.dvi
file, and on 100% it would render blurry. Setting the zoom to best fit
(with buttons, *not* with the drop-down menu) and increasing to 100%
(with increase zoom), it would look right (not perfect, but much less
blurry). Setting the zoom to fit page width and then reducing to 100%
(with decrease zoom), it would look blurry again. Other documents work
the other way round.

[Bug 278059] Re: clock applet does not remember home location between sessions

2009-03-23 Thread Zeppe
I'm experiencing the same, too. I'm using 8.10, but it was the same with
8.04. Attached is my clock configuration,
.gconf/apps/panel/applets/clock_screen0/prefs/%gconf.xml
