Michael, which CPU architecture did you try when this happened? Was it
amd64 or something more exotic?

In case you have those, could you look for syslog/journal information
from the time of the installation. I suspect snapd has crashed or
panicked, having access to the log could help us understand this better.

The LED(-like) indicator for the 'normal' mute button can easily get out
of sync with the indicator-sound-service one.

I think this is a separate and valid bug. The LED indicator should be
controlled by alsa when sound is becomes mute.

Steve, why is this not valid for acpi-support? AFAIR this is an ACPI-
related issue. You need some support to actually trigger the LED on that

This bug seems to be caused by missing:

gconftool-2 --set --type string
/apps/compiz/plugins/staticswitcher/allscreens/options/prev_key
"Tab"

The compiz plugin used to inherit metacity configuration but this is no
longer the case. A separate set of defaults has to be set to have this
keyboard shortcut work as expected when running in compiz mode.
