[Bug 216197] Re: no weather information in gnome panel

2009-07-05 Thread abhishek
The bug still persists for me. In fact it has worsened after upgrading
to jaunty. I usually access the internet from behind a proxy server (in
my university). Before 8.04 I could see the weather conditions of both
manually added locations and locations which were already in the list.
After hardy only locations in the list worked. Now in jaunty none works
when I'm working behind a proxy. But it works fine when I'm directly
connected to the internet and that too I have only checked for locations
in the list (forgot to check for manually added locations ;)).

So I'm changing the status beck again to Incomplete.

[Bug 216197] Re: no weather information in gnome panel

2008-11-20 Thread abhishek
I have the same problem as Kimiko Koopman. I am using ubuntu 8.10
(gnome 2.24) and my location is Chandigarh , India. My location is not
available in the list of cities so I enter it manually but I don't get
the weather info. But, however, if I set the location to New Delhi,
India , which is the closest location available in the list, I can see
the weather info.

I tried using the above solution by Kimiko Koopman but that shows the
weather info of New Delhi.

In hardy I could see the weather info of any city (that I entered
manually), but that is not the case in 8.10- I am able to see info for
only those cities which are listed by default.

If this is of some help I once found in my ~/.xsession-errors file
something regarding "Libgweather: Metadata not found: 403 Forbidden"
(Sorry I can't reproduce the exact content as that error disappeared
after using the hack by Kimiko Koopman) .

2008-08-28 Thread abhishek
Got UDF dvds to mount by following ths guide
(http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=4999342&postcount=10) with the latest
hardy kernel (2.6.24-19). Tried this guide with old versions of the kernel but
that did not work.
There still some of my DVDs that are not mounting (giving out the same error)
but most mount without problem.
Hope this helps.

Public bug reported:

I am on Linux Mint Elyssa 5.0 Gnome. I can't skip forward or backward in

[Bug 209363] [NEW] "Whether" spelled incorrectly in .Action pydoc

2008-03-30 Thread Abhishek Mukherjee
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: deskbar-applet

in package deskbar-applet on amd64 the file
/usr/share/pyshared/deskbar/interfaces/Action.py is as follows:
---snip---
def is_valid(self):
"""
Tests wether the match is still valid, by default it's True.

For example if a file has moved, the file match is invalid
"""
return True

def skip_history(self):
"""
Wether the match should appear or not in the history dropdown
(and thus be saved as history is saved)
"""
return False
---snip---
This appears on line 101..114 for me. "wether" is misspelled and should be
"whether"

Replicate:
1) open a terminal
2) type either:
pydoc deskbar.interfaces.Action.is_valid
or
pydoc deskbar.interfaces.Action.skip_history

minor bug but its my first one, gotta start somewhere :)

I am on Linux Mint Elyssa 5.0 Gnome. I can't skip forward or backward in
time while playing media files. If I try to move the slider forward, it
will go back to t=0 and start playing the movie again from start. The
"skip to" feature doesn't work either.

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System
-> About Ubuntu.

$  lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 8.04
Release:8.04

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy
packagename' or by checking in Synaptic.

$ apt-cache policy totem

totem:
  Installed: 2.22.1-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 2.22.1-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 2.22.1-0ubuntu2 0
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What you expected to happen

Skip the boring parts of movies.

4) What happened instead
Totem starts playing from the start of the media file.

[Bug 44058] Re: suspend when closing laptop lid doesn't work

2009-11-03 Thread Abhishek Dasgupta
On my laptop (Compaq V3018TU) with AC power plugged in and
"When laptop lid is closed: Suspend" set in g-p-m preferences, when I
close my lid, the laptop does not suspend immediately. When I reopen
the lid, it suspends. The laptop suspends directly when using the Suspend
option from the user menu at the top right.

[Bug 485402] [NEW] Evince render's incorrect background color for a particular PDF

2009-11-19 Thread Abhishek Mishra
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

Description:Ubuntu 9.10
Release:9.10
Package: Evince 2.28.1

Description -

I get a black background for http://www.slideshare.net/akosma/software-quality
after I view it in evince when downloaded as pdf.

While other viewers are able to render it properly.
I guess it might help increase evince's rendering quality.

Re: [Bug 485402] Re: Evince render's incorrect background color for a particular PDF

2009-11-21 Thread Abhishek Mishra
This is the pdf, but right now, I'm unable to reproduce the problem.
I usually restart my laptop after 3-4 days. Now that I've restarted
and some time has passed, the document is getting rendered properly,
however on the day of reporting, every other document rendered
properly, but this one.

Thanks,
Abhishek Mishra
