I have startes apport-qt ( since running /usr/share/apport/apport-gtk
after the crash shows the same Segmentation fault (core dumped))  but
no bug report were prompted :( anything else to try ?

I have tried to run as much applications as possible after running totem to see 
if i can a backtrace from them .
Xine , and (metacity --replace) were the ionly one to not crash .
Glade and gnome-power-statistcs were the only ones to produce crash log so i 
have sent them with apport. Hope this help.

is there any argument to pass to dbg before running totem ,elsewhere i
think that we are facing a problem that couldn't be solved , at least
with the classic backtrace method , the process still frozen and don't
crash by itself :( unless i run! it from outside gdb

If i run totem player then close it , from a kde session, every gnome 
application i try to open return the following error in terminal Segmentation 
fault (core dumped)
.Until i open another session.I have tried doing that in Gnome but totem works 
fine in every startup , this is only happening after launching totem from kde.
