[Bug 1548933] Re: It only shows installed apps, not available ones

2016-02-25 Thread amjjawad
Testing Ubuntu GNOME amd64 16.04 beta (build: 20160225.1) on Oracle
VirtualBox. It happens with the Live Session and it is also happening
after I install the system.

To re-produce it:
1- Open GNOME Software
2- Type any package
3- You should see "No application found" message.
4- You're suppose to see only the installed packages.

[Bug 1421991] Re: Apport showed a gdm error while booting Vivid

2015-02-25 Thread amjjawad
I think it happens with me sometimes. When I login to the desktop, it
crashes, reload and asks me to report the problem. I usually ignore that
but might be the same issue that Lance is facing!

Maybe I should file a bug next time to see what is going on :)

[Bug 1299912] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 report as 13.10

2014-05-15 Thread amjjawad
Hi, just for the record:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

will not update the logo and Ubuntu GNOME 14.04 LTS will still report
"Ubuntu 13.10" instead of anything else.

The attached screenshot is for the 49th machine I converted to GNU/Linux
(https://t.co/ZvquPNLdjY) and I just checked my machine and it has the
same thing still. I have not changed anything; same settings as both
fresh new installations and NO PPA is added.

Thank you!

[Bug 1285258] Re: failing to unlock screensaver

2014-02-27 Thread amjjawad
Hi,

Thank you for reporting this bug to make Ubuntu even better.

I have failed so far to re-produce this bug. Every time my Ubuntu GNOME
Trusty Tahr system goes to Screen Saver mode, I can re-login very
normally without any issue at all.

I just tested on Ubuntu GNOME Trusty Tahr 20140226 - i386 but as stated,
no success to re-produce this one.

[Bug 1262062] Re: 'Extract Here' will work on first file but not a second

2014-01-14 Thread amjjawad
Ubuntu GNOME Trusty Tahr amd64 - 3.13.0-3-generic - fully updated -
running on virtual machine. Here is what is happening:

1- Created 4 '.tar.gz' files : [1.tar.gz, 2.tar.gz, 3.tar.gz and 4.tar.gz].
2- Compress works perfectly without any problem.
3- I did a Right Click on 1.tar.gz File and chose 'Extract Here' and it worked
perfectly.
4- I did a Right Click on 2.tar.gz File and chose 'Extract Here' and it did
'not' work.
5- Right Click on 3.tar.gz File and Chose 'Extract Here' and it worked
perfectly.
6- Right Click on 4.tar.gz File and chose 'Extract Here' and it did 'not' work.
7- I did repeat the above steps from 1-6 and it gave me the exact same result.
8- Kindly see the attached screenshot.

@Tim
If you require anything else to include, kindly let me know :)

Thank you!

I have indeed read and 'your' bug or to be more accurate the tile of the
bug and the description are not similar unless I am missing something.
And, as I said, I will check that on Trusty and report bug. I don't need
anyone to tell me to read carefully :)

By the way, I just tested File Roller 3.4.1 on Xubuntu Release 12.04
(precise) 64-bit - Kernel Linux 3.2.0-58-generic and it works like a
charm from the very first attempt.

I will try to do the same on my Virtual Machine with the latest Ubuntu
GNOME Trusty update and report back :)

[Bug 1262062] Re: 'Extract Here' will work on first file but not a second

2014-01-14 Thread amjjawad
Hi and thanks for reporting :)

The Title says: "'Extract Here' will work on first file but not a second
" while on the description, it says: "Right click on one and use
'Extract Here' and all is fine. Right after I go to the second file and
peform the same action of 'Extract Here', the file will not extract. If
you then attempt it again, it will extract."

So, I think you mean it will 'not' do anything on the 'second file' as
the first attempt to extract but will work on the second 'attempt' to
extract the second file?

[Bug 1238410] Re: Inconsistent cursor visibility with cursor plugin enabled

2013-12-18 Thread amjjawad
I am NOT sure if this is the same as this bug but in my case, the cursor
has disappeared after the monitor was off/screensaver - once I moved the
mouse to see the desktop, there was no cursor but I was able to click, I
just can NOT see the cursor and it is hard to use a ghost cursor and
keep clicking blindly :)
