I have a similar issue happening with the Sansa Clip+. dmesg shows the device being picked up, fdisk -l shows no partition table. I have tried both USB modes. The Sansa Clip+ is shown in Computer view but clicking on it does nothing and it isn't listed anywhere else. [Bug 369194] Re: gvfsd-smb hangs at 100% cpu when remote share goes offline while copying a file
Accessing the root of a local samba share (list of about 8 files) does not cause the 100%. Trying to open one of these subfolders pegs the CPU at 100% and requires that the process be killed. This is from Lucid.
