[Bug 1839764] [NEW] Video cuts out after 3 seconds
Public bug reported: Using Desktop 19.04 When I start the computer the video is fine until it boots up Ubuntu. Then, after 3 seconds approximately the monitor is blanked. I can turn the monitor off and on again and it shows Ubuntu, again for 3 seconds then the same black screen. Ubuntu is running and I can log in, click report error button in pop up and log out, during multiple 3 second intervals between switching on the screen and Ubuntu blanking it. I am currently using another computer to send this report. Anybody else with the problem? [Bug 803748] Re: Always error message while sending a mail
I have this error on two machines. My mail folder structure contains sub folders. I have set up filters to automatically save to sub folders. When I send a message which has no filter and auto filing then all is well. If I send a message that is filtered and filed to a Sent sub-folder, I get this error report:- QUOTE Your message was sent, but an error occurred during post-processing. The reported error was "Failed to append to mbox:///home/bob/.local/share/evolution/mail/local#Sent: Invalid folder URI 'mbox:///home/bob/.local/share/evolution/mail/local#Sent' Appending to local 'Sent' folder instead.". [Bug 439448] Re: Visual corruption affecting several panel applets
I have two manifestations across 3 i386 Maverick machines, two from fresh live cd install, one upgraded from Lucid. Installs from 8th Jan 2011 to 10th Jan 2011, all updated on 12th Jan 2011. Manifestation One. The top panel appears and looks ok but cannot be accessed when left clicking with the mouse, i.e. no menus or flying hints appear. Bug is intermittent. Some start ups are fine then after a day or so the manifestation reappears. Manifestation Two. The top panel icons are incorrectly presented with no Applications, Places, System visible and the Indicator Applet Session duplicated and overlapping such that the Shut Down menu doesn't show. To the inexperienced user there is no way to shut down the machine other than the power button with a fair chance of corrupting the system in the process. This manifestation is equally intermittent. This should be of high importance as data loss is possible upon enforced power button shut down. Reporters should be encouraged to report all behaviour until the bug is fixed. Clearly (or it would be fixed) we do not know enough about it yet. [Bug 145354] Re: evolution - filter mailboxes for duplicates - wish
When using filters I can get incoming and outgoing emails to the appropriate folder automatically. However, Evolution insists on leaving a copy in the 'Deleted Items' folder. When I 'expunge' the Deleted Items folder all emails that have been deleted via a filter remain in the Deleted Items folder. As far as I can see what appears to be happening is:- Initially an email is brought into the main Inbox or Sent folder, then the filter applied, then the email moved to appropriate folder and finally the original in Inbox or Sent 'deleted' by sending it to the Deleted Items folder. this results in two copies on the system. One in the filtered folder, one in the Deleted Items folder. This duplication may be why it cannot be 'expunged'. This is very messy and deserves more than a 'wish list' status. It is a bug! [Bug 574288] [NEW] Existing Sent email does not respond to Apply Filters
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Scenario: Set up a outgoing mail filter based on an existing sent email using the recipient criteria. Create a new folder under Sent to receive the filtered email. Select All the Sent folder emails. Apply filters. The emails expected to be filtered stay in the Sent folder and have to be manually moved to the 'filtered' folder. HOWEVER all subsequent sent emails that match the filter criteria are correctly moved to the 'filtered' folder. Compare the above with setting up filters on incoming mail. [Bug 488513] Re: Headphone output ear-bleedingly loud on Karmic
You can control headphones. Plug in your head phones and start an application that uses them, say Rhythmbox with some music. When the music is playing look for the speaker icon in the top(default) panel of the Desktop, right click and choose Sound Preferences. When the Sound Preferences window opens choose Applications. You should see a volume control and be able to adjust the volume. You can also select a 'Connector' which can be amplified (or not for earphones). pulse-audio had a 'tricky' birth but can allow full control over any input/output device. It does have more than one volume control however, in the above case it has 'Output volume' in Sound preferences and also control through 'Applications' tab (which only becomes visible when an application is actually running). A shortcut to the 'Output volume' is utilised by left clicking the speaker icon. [Bug 97251] Re: screen turns off after 20 minutes even when playing in fullscreen
It's back! Compiz set to 'none'. Fully updated 7.10. Screensaver set to 1 minute (I'm testing) with random visual. Playing dvd with latest VLC player. 'Disable Screensaver' check box ticked. After 10 minutes (exactly - measured) the screen goes blank. Can be repeated at every attempt. The good news is I can turn Compiz 'Visual Effects' to 'Extra' and get the same effect. -- screen turns off after 20 minutes even when playing in fullscreen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/97251 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
