Hi Sebastien There are only the following: Ubuntu 8.04.1 Kernel 2.6 24-19-1pia and Ubuntu 8.04.1 Kernel 2.6 24-29-1pia (Recovery Mode) I tried to play a tune again. Below is the message I received. The volume control did not find any elements and/or devices to control. This means either that you don't have the right GStreamer plugins installed, or that you don't have a sound card configured. Regards Abraham You can remove the volume control from the panel by right-clicking the speaker icon on the panel and selecting Remove From Panel from the menu.-Original Message- From: Sebastien Bacher seb...@ubuntu.com Reply-To: Bug 333407 333...@bugs.launchpad.net To: abro...@emirates.net.ae Subject: [Bug 333407] Re: toshiba netbook ubuntu certified sound video player not working Date: Tue, 28 Apr 2009 08:57:22 + when booting you have a some second to hit esc on the keyboard and get the boot menu displayed, take an old linux version in that list -- toshiba netbook ubuntu certified sound video player not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/333407 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Hi I reloaded to complete system form the recovery disk. The sound was working very well again after the installation. I run update manager to get latest updates. Re: [Fwd: Re: [Bug 333407] Re: toshiba netbook ubuntu certified sound video player not working]
Hi we replicated the problem with the sound today. I took the Netbook into the dealer and they reinstalled the Ubuntu from the recovery disk supplied with the Netbook. The sound worked well. We tested it at their facilities and I tested it at home. I then received a notification that there are security upgrades available. I ran upgrade manager and 161 suggested upgrades were suggested. I let the upgrade manager do the upgrades. I then found an hour later that the we have the same problems with the sound as previously. This is a problem for me as I use my Netbook daily and want to make sure the security updates are in place but loose the sound functionality in the process. Please advice how we can proceed to fix this issue. Regards On Sat, 2009-02-28 at 17:33 +, Cat wrote: Hi This happens every time. I try to run a short video or youtube.
