[Bug 56957] adding a windows printer in a large network is painful

2006-08-19 Thread chesty
Public bug reported:

When there are 1000s of hosts, fiinding the right print server takes
ages in the drop down list. Typing the print servers name in the host
field doesn't work, it doesn't list the servers printers in the printer
field, whereas if you find the server in the host drop down list, and
click it, it does list it's printers.

To make matters worse, bug 32112 makes it almost impossible to find the
server in time.

Every few seconds, a popup asks me to authenticate to a domain, there
appears to be a never ending stream of popups on this network, and I'm
only interested in authenticating to one domain. Each time a popup
occurs, it closes the host drop down list, making it very difficult to
scan through the 1000s of hosts to find the right print server, I get
part way through the lists of hosts, a popup interrupts me and closes
the drop down list, making me start from the top of the host list again.

** Affects: gnome-cups-manager (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed

Sorry for not updating this, it's all fixed. gnome-power-manager works too.
Thanks for your time.

Does this still happen? How does gnome-power-manager react on this?

[Bug 40870] Re: evo n620c after resuming while on battery, the battery monitor says I'm connected to power

2006-04-24 Thread chesty
I tried updating the bug through email, not sure if it went through. So I'll do
it here too.

I didn't have /proc/acpi/battery/BAT*, so i've attached
/proc/acpi/battery/C1B*/*

I also didn't have lshal, from memory hal was uninstalled during an upgrade.
I've reinstalled it. retested with hal installed, and it still happened.
