[Bug 680116] [NEW] Mouse Freezes up at random intervals and no control over applications

2010-11-22 Thread czajkowski
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

A lucid CLEAN install was put on this machine a week ago and upgraded to
Maverick shortly afterwards. At random intervals mouse actions FREEZE
up. I cannot click onto any running application. I can ctrl alt arrow
to other desktops but not click on any running application, nor can I
start any new one.

If I ctrl alt F1 and log in and run DISPLAY=: 0 gnome-control-center and
go back to desktop mouse actions work again.

Applications running vary from 3-4 applications, like Gwibber,
Rhythmbox, IRC and a browser, when I run htop there is nothing massively
hogging it at all.

[Bug 561294] [NEW] Not a helpful or appropiate error message displayed

2010-04-12 Thread czajkowski
Public bug reported:

get the following output -

Window manager warning: last_user_time (1271002643) is greater than comparison
timestamp (799652). This most likely represents a buggy client sending
inaccurate timestamps in messages such as _NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW. Trying to work
around...
Window manager warning: 0x4600028 (Social bro) appears to be one of the
offending windows with a timestamp of 1271002643. Working around...
Window manager warning: Received a _NET_WM_MOVERESIZE message for 0x4600028
(Social bro); these messages lack timestamps and therefore suck.

while the error output is helpful surely a user seeing "these messages
lack timestamps and therefore suck." is not at all helpful and should
have a more appropriate error message displayed
