[Bug 617964] Re: Nautilus crashes on seeing SVG file first time and then on the thumbnails
!! bug caused wrong file to upload .. ignore the .kmz file (I'd delete it if I knew how) So, I tried to upload again from a folder that contained only that one file and Firefox crashed. I guess that's bound to it's using Nautilus in some way. Will try to post the SVG as text instead.. -- Nautilus crashes on seeing SVG file first time and then on the thumbnails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/617964 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 617964] [NEW] Nautilus crashes on seeing SVG file first time and then on the thumbnails
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Nautilus crashes as it enters the folder containing the attached SVG and others. Having navigated to the folder once, it seems to be happy to return, suggesting it's maybe the creation of the thumbnail that's an issue? Then it will crash again with either left or right click on the thumbnail and before any option has been selected. (Apparently others have seen this.. Bug #598503 Invalid for lack of information.) [Bug 292140] Re: [Intrepid] Screensaver activates during full-screen gameplay
> this is a bug about the lack of a compatible "xscreensaver-command --poke" So the screensaver is ignorant and relies on other programs to poke it and keep it suppressed rather than behaving in an intelligent way?! Surely seeing the keyboard or mouse is in frequent use should be sufficient?? Having one program dependent on others seems contrary to an object independent approach I'd understood was key behind open source.. you're more expert so defer to your judgment, it just seems odd.. -- [Intrepid] Screensaver activates during full-screen gameplay https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292140 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 370855] Re: Pasting with Middle Mouse Button into Gnome Terminal Delivers Multiple Copies
Rethinking the above.. the pasting occurs only if the terminal is already open. Opening one after copying doesn't work but that might be a normal function in Ubuntu?.. So, back one step.. it's reproducible, happening in new users as well; in terminal, gedit, terminator. It just seems the mouse is acting overly sensitive. Trying now to alter slightly the timing of the single click gives mostly two, occasionally three pastes. Holding it down can spawn endless pastes but only it seems after some slight pause. I don't know if that is designed in and the first paste it still the issue or if I just need a new mouse?? Maybe it is just me with this? -- Pasting with Middle Mouse Button into Gnome Terminal Delivers Multiple Copies https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370855 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 370855] Re: Pasting with Middle Mouse Button into Gnome Terminal Delivers Multiple Copies
Yes - reproducible. Stupidly, I'd not thought to try outside terminal but yes it's happening in gedit too. One new thing.. again every time.. copying within the terminal or within gedit the middle mouse doesn't paste. It's seems to be only from input the like of firefox, or email text that's doing this. That difference might be some polymorphic issue??.. that is, it seems copying plain text only is not pasting anything. Not sure how a dud mouse would cause this.. and hadn't noticed it in 8.10. -- Pasting with Middle Mouse Button into Gnome Terminal Delivers Multiple Copies https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370855 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 370855] [NEW] Pasting with Middle Mouse Button into Gnome Terminal Delivers Multiple Copies
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal Since installing Jaunty, I'm frequently getting text pasted twice when using the middle mouse button to paste into the terminal.. I've tried this many times now, what amounts to a single click. Experimenting briefly it seems to generate multiple paste if the button it held suppressed for a while, so likely no limit just a recurring find that the button it pressed?? I've looked for an option to reduce sensitivity etc but can't see anything that changes this. Workaround is to use the right-click paste option but it's not as handy. [Bug 370737] [NEW] Creating username = exising group is refused as user exists
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools In trying to simple copy a config across account I got to a point of deleting a new user. Returning to recreate the user a fresh, having deleted the /home/user folder the "Users and Groups" suggest the username exists although it's not in the user list. Not obviously, it is the group by that name that is preventing the user being created. Deleting the group name = user name, the user can then be created without issue. Creating any user with existing group name does the same it seems. Maybe change the prompt to suggest group of that name exists already rather than suggesting user name exists? Possibly also improve deletion of users by querying if group name removal is being expected too? ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Creating username = exising group is refused as user exists https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370737 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-system-tools in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 292140] [NEW] [Intrepid] Screensaver activates during full-screen gameplay
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver If the screensaver is set to activate when computer is idle and idle time is set, the screensaver activates even if the computer is very active in the middle of a game, with key presses and mouse movement. Whether this is because the game (Nexuiz) is in full screen mode, I don't know but it locks up and is very slow to respond, maybe because the screensaver is graphic based too. Coming out of the password lock the system becomes very unresponsive, black screen, sometime the cursor moves other times not. Even the Ctrl- Alt-Backspace is unresponsive for a good 10-20 secs, eventually it does reset itself back to login for a new session but obvious a nuisance. My guess is the test for idle is failing somehow to see key press and mouse movement within the full-screen game. ** Affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- [Intrepid] Screensaver activates during full-screen gameplay https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292140 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 117853] Bad case matching on message filters
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Message filters for sender field, and likely all email address fields, appear to be exactly matching case. Unlike URL's where case can matter on some servers, a email address' case is not important. That is an email [EMAIL PROTECTED] is identical to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and should be recognised as such but isn't filtered unless exact match is requested. Because of this user can't setup filters with any confidence that mail will be caught, so is limited to blacklisting rather than effective whitelisting. I wonder case matching is redundant in all field filters for most purposes? ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Bad case matching on message filters https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
