[Bug 101852] hal - usb harddrive eject instead of unmount
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: hal Im in feisty I386. Three days ago there was a hal update. Since then when I have my ntfs external hard drive in I have the eject option now instead of unmount. When trying the eject option it gives an error saying couldnt eject the deivce and remounts the drive. As a member of the forums pointed out is if you edit /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/10-storage-policy.fdi and put false instead of true it works now. I feel this would be of great importance since any new user wouldnt want to open a terminal and manually unmount the device. ** Affects: hal (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- hal - usb harddrive eject instead of unmount https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/101852 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for hal in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 94048] Re: [feisty] Slow gnome application startup due to /etc/hosts misconfiguration
I to can confirm this. My comp with 1gig of ram was taking firefox 10+ seconds to load everytime. By using this firefox opens instantly and without all the disk thrashing -- [feisty] Slow gnome application startup due to /etc/hosts misconfiguration https://launchpad.net/bugs/94048 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
