[Bug 1771902] [NEW] Can't enter password in lock screen after running "gnome-shell --replace"
Public bug reported: Gnome Shell stops accepting mouse input from time to time, and when it does I run "gnome-shell --replace" to get mouse control back. After running this command, I can't log in because it's as if the ENTER key is pressed every half second on the login screen. The lock screen tells me that I typed in the wrong password and clears the password input. I can't type my password in half a second. I can workaround this by bug pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 which makes the lock screen's password input form stop clearing its input. This isn't the ideal workflow though because I have workarounds on workarounds. [Bug 1741588] Re: Categories in Ubuntu Software don't work
It happened on a fresh login for all categories in the software store on 16.04. I upgraded my 16.04 machine to 17.10, but I could wipe the OS partition and reinstall 16.04 this weekend to test if the software store still has the same problem with displaying categories. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-software in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1741588 Title: Categories in Ubuntu Software don't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1741588/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1741588] Re: Categories in Ubuntu Software don't work
Polarr is a Snap, but the bug I intended to report here is that on 16.04, none of the items in the category list display or are clickable. The screenshot attached to the original bug report illustrates the problem. I couldn't say for sure whether Polarr is in the list or not because each of the apps display as a box with an ellipsis inside: no icon or text. One weird thing I when switching between categories is that none of the items in the list for each category render or are clickable, but there are different amounts of items in each category. I know I had an internet connection because I was on a video call. During a demo of the new Polarr Snap I was asked whether the Polarr Snap is in the Software Store and if it showed up under the Graphics category. I could bring up Polarr by searching for it directly. It was kind of embarrassing though when none of the categories in the store worked. We link our existing users to our snapcraft.io/polarr page, but we're not featured, the categories were broken on 16.04, and we don't show up under categories on 17.10, so there is currently no way for new users to find Polarr in the Software Store. Thanks for your patience, I know that y'all have a lot of work to do with all the new Snaps coming out. I've seen categories in the Software Store work before and maybe this is just a temporary regression; I just wanted to share this in case you weren't aware of the problem.

[Bug 711355] Re: Songs synced to iPhone 4 do not appear in iPod app
My iPhone 3GS is using iOS 4.2 and I had just reset all of the settings. This is what I did leading up to the iPhone being filled up with other: 1. Synced my music library with iPhone. The music didn't all fit on the iPhone, but it was listed as music. 2. Banshee doesn't have the option like Songbird to organize music folders, so I closed Banshee, moved all of my music to an external drive, started Banshee, and had Banshee import the songs back in, copying the files to their destination. 3. I plugged my iPhone into my computer and synced it with a different playlist. At this point, Banshee says that my iPhone is completely filled with other, and according to my iPhone there is 0 free space. The iPod app says that I don't have any content, and I have no way to remove the other from my iPhone so as to be able to install applications. The iPhone presented a dialog while I was looking at the iPod that there was something wrong with the pictures app that needed my attention, and when I went to the pictures app, it complained that I couldn't add any more pictures because there was no space. I tried looking at the iPhone with gtkpod, but it popped up 3 dialogs saying that I had to initialize the iPhone, and I clicked okay for the first one and cancel for the remaining dialogs. Now, whenever I start Banshee with my iPhone plugged in, it promptly crashes after consuming 100% CPU for some time. I'm kind of wondering why this feature is included in Ubuntu at all, since it fills up my iPhone with inaccessible music and consumes 100% of my CPU while crashing Banshee. I attached the terminal output of running Banshee with the iPhone plugged in. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/711355 Title: Songs synced to iPhone 4 do not appear in iPod app To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gtkpod/+bug/711355/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

After doing this, my four workspace switcher applet boxes that were arranged in a square were rearranged side by side with space below them (in a 4wide x 2tall configuration, with nothing on the bottom). I right clicked the applet to fix this, and after doing this, the applet crashed. After choosing to reload the applet when prompted, the application now displays properly (back to a 2x2 square).
