[Bug 392283] Re: it's just possible to print the current month

2009-06-26 Thread erik
Sorry!... reading what i wrote I understand perfectly... I hope the
following explanation will be enough

in evolution mail:
- click on calendar (for me, in italian "Calendario")
- in the sidebar on the left select month clicking on the left arrow to join
july (for me "luglio") and then click on the first of july and drag to 31.
after this I have selected the days between 29 of june to 2 of september
- click on file - print preview (for me "file - anteprima di stampa")

I expected to see a preview reporting as title "july" (id est "luglio"),
and days between 29 of june to 2 of september, but i have "june"
(giugno) as title, and days between 1 of june to 12 of july.
(schermata1.png)

then:
- click on file - setup page (file - impostazioni pagina)
- click on landscape (orizzontale)
- in the sidebar on the left select month clicking on the left arrow to join
july (for me "luglio") and then click on the first of july and drag to 31.
- click on file - print preview (for me "file - anteprima di stampa")

Now I see a rotated page (readable from left) titled July ("Luglio")

[Bug 131973] Re: desktop random freezes in feisty

2007-10-19 Thread Erik
I'm still having these problems after upgrading to Gutsy.

I have a Pentium D 830 with an ATI radeon X600 (RV380). I was using the
open source radeon DRI drivers with aiglx to run compiz-fusion.
Yesterday I decided to try switching back to the restricted ATI driver
and xgl. Haven't had a crash since. So the radeon driver or aiglx
might be part of the puzzle.

[Bug 304765] Re: Evolution mail renames attached pdf's to dat's...

2009-04-28 Thread Erik Sjöberg
I had the same problem. I tried to mail two attached files from
evolution twice. Both files contained the letter "ö" i the file name.
The receiver got files named with "some sort of number".dat. Both times
i had my self and a friend in the bcc-field, and both of us got the mail
correctly.

When i mailed the same files with my webmail account they got trough.

I belive tha the problem either is a compatibility issue between
evolution and the receivers mail client or the receivers firewall. The
company i tried to mail is likely to have an pretty secure firewall.

[Bug 70535] Re: nautilus crashes when copying a 4G file on a vfat volume

2009-03-28 Thread Erik Cederstrand
No, no, no, don't close it, fix it! There's 19 duplicates and something
like 50 people watching this bug. I've finished my education, had two
kids and changed jobs three times since I opened this bug in 2005. Can
we please not just close it, but fix it instead by issuing an error
message? Trying to do something that will never work should be
considered a bug.

It's got to be less than five lines of code the right place:

if( targetdir.fstype == "FAT32" && file.size > 4GB ) {
echo "Error: You are trying to copy a file larger than 4GB to a FAT32
formatted filesystem. FAT32 doesn't support file sizes larger than 4GB.";
   return 1;
}

[Bug 70535] Re: nautilus crashes when copying a 4G file on a vfat volume

2009-03-28 Thread Erik Cederstrand
It's great that Nautilus doesn't crash anymore, but the error message
isn't very helpful. Nautilus probably just catches the return value from
cp and shows the error message. I'm not confident cp is the best place
to fix this, because then cp would need to know about other filesystem
limits like vnode count, disk space etc, which would make cp
unreasonably complex. Nautilus itself is probably a better place for
this.

[Bug 352665] [NEW] Evolution hangs when accepting meeting invitations with CalDAV

2009-03-31 Thread Erik Lönroth
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I have 2 ubuntu 8.10 installations.

1: A calendar-server running davical. Works fine, my users can add
appointments, view each others calendars etc. from evolution. (CalDAV)

2: A laptop: The evolution client.

This is what I do:

1. User ADAM creates a new "appointment" and adds BEN as attendee. (Both have
working calendars in the calendar-server
2. BEN gets an invitation email.
3. BEN opens up the email, which contains the invitation to a meeting from ADAM.
4. BEN presses the "Accept" button. (See attachment image.)

What happens:
Evolution hangs and needs to be "Force Quit" to break out.
The meeting is not accepted or added to the calendar.
I have to "force quit" evolution to break out.

An strace on the evolution mail process gives:

e...@laptop:~$ strace -p33457

gettimeofday({1238529441, 30679}, NULL) = 0

futex(0x98c6674, 0x80 /* FUTEX_??? */, 1

An strace on the evolution data-server process gives:

e...@laptop:~$ strace -p32119

I have set the CalDAV calendar as default calendar for the users trying to
import the meeting.

What I expected was that the meeting inserted into ADAMs default
calendar.

2009-04-01 Thread Erik Lönroth
More information in this bug:

I'm not 100% sure, but it seems evolution tries to add the meeting to a
calendar not belonging to the users calendar.

My thoughts on that is that trying to add a meeting to a calendar that
the user does not have "write" access to, might perhaps generate this
bug?

The backtrace is now attached.

[Bug 385331] [NEW] Password for SSH keys aren't stored in keyring

2009-06-09 Thread Erik Helin
Public bug reported:

When using SSH with a ssh key that is password protected, the gnome-
keyring doesn't ask for the password of the ssh key. In Ubuntu 8.10,
gnome-keyring used to ask for the password of the ssh key, and then
stored it and automatically remembered it. Other people seem to have
this problem as well according to this thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1145017&page=1.

Ubuntu version: 9.04
gnome-keyring version: 2.26.1

Expected to happen:
gnome-keyring prompting me for a password and then remember it for future ssh
sessions.

What happened instead:
I was asked for the password of the ssh key in gnome-terminal

This is my first bug report here on launchpad, if you need any more
information, please tell me so and I will provide it.

[Bug 385331] Re: Password for SSH keys aren't stored in keyring

2009-06-18 Thread Erik Helin
Sorry for the late answer, been busy at work.

* Is it reproducible?
Yes, it's reproducible.

* Steps to reproduce:
1. Copy an existing private ssh key to the folder ~/.ssh/id_rsa (or create a
new ssh key and add that key to the server)
2. Try to make a connection to the ssh server which the key unlocks
3. Now you will get asked for a password in the terminal, not by the gnome
keyring, and the password won't be stored for future use

I reproduced the bug both by creating a new key, and by copying an older
key.

[Bug 323545] [NEW] Rhythmbox crashes when a podcast feed has an item with no media file

2009-01-31 Thread Erik Youngren
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

One of my podcast feeds updated and the publisher failed to append the
media file for one of the new items. Rhythmbox closes unexpectedly when
trying to update this feed.

I attached the rss feed in question, the first listed item has empty
guid and enclosure tags, and no file url like the others. Feed source is
at http://kfiam640.com/podcast/BryanSuits.xml

When I update that feed, or click "Update All," rhythmbox crashes.
Updating the remaining feeds singly results in normal behavior.

Process:
$ rhythmbox
# Click "Podcasts"
# Click "Update All" or right-click podcast feed "BRYAN SUITS" and "Update
Podcast Feed"
Segmentation fault

Expected: rhythmbox skips item and notifies user of missing information

Instead: segmentation fault

Ubuntu 8.10

2008-03-25 Thread Erik Andrén
Vyas,
you can check if you have the dcdbas kernel module loaded by issuing: 'sudo
lsmod | grep dcdbas' in a terminal without the ticks.
To load the dcdbas kernel module, issue 'sudo modprobe dcdbas'
You might need to restart hal after loading the kernel module to get the
backlight working.
This can be done by typing 'sudo /etc/init.d/hal restart'

[Bug 194719] [NEW] gnome-power-manager is confused about ac online, offline and battery state

2008-02-23 Thread Erik Andrén
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Using hardy current. This problem has just recently emerged with the latest
updates on a
Clevo M720R on intel hardware, C2D 2,4 GHz

The gnome-power-manager is confused about battery state.
If I set the icon to always be shown in the gnome-power-manager, its status
isn't updated when I pull the AC-plug.
Thus, I never get an accurate reading of the battery level.

I don't know if it's relevant to the bug but I've used to have a regression
where gpm detected two batteries (but only one physical existed).
Know, only one battery is detected. Could it be that the "wrong" battery has
been eliminated?

Re: [Bug 195266] Re: Nautilus does not update trashcan icon

2008-05-07 Thread Erik Hill
Yes, I have just tried that, and discovered that:

The new user trash icon behaves in exactly the same buggy way, that
is, it doesn't update with adding stuff to an empty trashcan nor
emptying it, although opening it does show the items in there.

Stranger, when I logged back out and back into my old account, the
trashcan icon had completely disappeared! However, it is still
"there", it just isn't visible, since right-clicking on it does open
up a trashcan context menu.

Sometimes, display things are compiz related. I tried turning off and
on compiz but that doesn't change anything.

[Bug 56689] Missing "SecureSystemMenu"

2006-08-17 Thread Erik Zettel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

I am missing the "SecureSystemMenu" option in gdm.conf. There is no
possibility to have a secure (just for privileges users) shutdown/reboot
via the gdm menu.

The option seems to be removed in 2.13.0.4-0ubuntu1.

Quote from changelog.Debian:

My currently installed version is: 2.14.10-0ubuntu1.

** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 68403] Re: Gnome-panel freezes regularly during use

2007-10-17 Thread Erik Chakravarty
When I see this freezing in Gutsy, one can still click on the applets
and buttons (e.g. the menu), but the icons are not updated with the
mouseover highlight. This is the case for all buttons and applets. The
most annoying part is that the clock doesn't update.

hiding the panel with the hide arrows and showing it again appears to
refresh it enough to get everything working again. It is quite hard to
notice when this happens, as the panel is still functional.

[Bug 43572] Re: Dell Laptops don't talk to HAL about brightness correctly

2007-10-23 Thread Erik Andrén
Great!
Martin, there's still the issue that the dcdbas kernel module needs manual
loading at bootup to get this to work.
What's the proper approach to getting this issue resolved?
