[Bug 386697] [NEW] gedit + sshfs + wlan-connection-problems = long gedit freezes when saving
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit i often work on source code in gedit which i have integrated into my filesystem with sshfs. my wlan connection aborts from time to time. when i save then (or shortly before) in gedit, gedit turns dark and unaccessible, sometimes even minutes after the wlan connection has been restored already. another bad thing with a hanging gedit is that other tabs also aren't accessible. i suggest doing the saving in a background threat with a timeout and show a gedit message if saving wasn't possible + maybe even backing up the file somewhere in the home directory. also let other tabs unaffected by this one tab. ** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gedit + sshfs + wlan-connection-problems = long gedit freezes when saving https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/386697 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gedit in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 372692] Re: "find next" in continuous mode sometimes doesn't do anything when the actual found phrase is very on the bottom of the screen
got some for you in the above document. it happens on all zoom levels although it behaves a little different some times. sidepane or fullscreen have no impact. (i use 125% here without sidepane or fullscreen). search for "AVCC". searching forward: hangs between several words on pages 2/3, 205, 212, 213/214, 277, 300, 351 searching backwards hangs on pages: 301, 265, 218, 214, 212/213, 206, 5, 2 "hangs" means you can press the according search button as often as you like, only manual scrolling helps. -- "find next" in continuous mode sometimes doesn't do anything when the actual found phrase is very on the bottom of the screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/372692 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 372692] Re: "find next" in continuous mode sometimes doesn't do anything when the actual found phrase is very on the bottom of the screen
it's not a specific page, it already happened on many pages. the next time it happens, i send you the searchword and the page (but as said, it's hard to reproduce). most of the time it searches for the next keyword even when i just scroll down a bit (my workaround).
[Bug 372692] Re: "find next" in continuous mode sometimes doesn't do anything when the actual found phrase is very on the bottom of the screen
it happens with all sorts of pdfs (maybe ps too, don't know), for instance with this one. it only happens some times, i found no reliable way to reproduce it yet. but it happens very often. yesterday for example, "find next" jumped between two found words in the same line (even where the real next string was visible below on the next page). try for example "oc1a", and remember to turn continuous mode on. ** Attachment added: "ATmega16.pdf" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26638745/ATmega16.pdf -- "find next" in continuous mode sometimes doesn't do anything when the actual found phrase is very on the bottom of the screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/372692 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
