[Bug 1750889] Re: GNOME Terminal scrollbar looks weird on clean GNOME session under Wayland
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1691678 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1691678 I use gnome on xorg on Ubuntu 20.04, and I see the scrollbar sticking out past the bottom of the window also. The scrollbar also sticks out to the right, as in the screenshot posted here. So I don't think this is a Wayland issue, but is an issue with the theme itself. This does not happen with the Yaru theme. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1750889 Title: GNOME Terminal scrollbar looks weird on clean GNOME session under Wayland To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1750889/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 891622] Re: Alt+Right-click doesn't work on gnome-panel when running compiz
Compiz should only grab input for the alt key in combination with the left mouse button, and not with the right mouse button. [Bug 885939] [NEW] notify-osd causes the gnome classic session to fail
Public bug reported: I have noticed several other users that are having this issue as well in in Ubuntu 11.10. Most of these users believe they are running the gnome classic session and that compiz failed to start. The fact is that notify-osd is causing the gnome-classic session to fail entirely, and the gnome-fallback session is loaded instead (which of course does not load compiz). The gnome-classic session works fine after removing notify-osd from the RequiredProviders line of the file /usr/share/gnome- session/sessions/gnome-classic.session. It should be noted that notify- osd still starts after removing it from the RequiredProviders, and seems to still be working. So most likely it is just an error in communication between notify-osd and the gnome session (inverted boolean return value perhaps?). ** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885939 Title: notify-osd causes the gnome classic session to fail To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/885939/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 787465] Re: View->Show MenuBar isn't working in 11.04 and later
Nevermind, I had set the exported the variable UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0 trying to disable the menus following something I had found online. It turns out that was wrong. If you want to disable the global menus you need to unset that variable completely. It is odd that if the appmenu is unistalled and that variable is set to zero that it forces the gnome- terminal menu to show when it is started. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/787465 Title: View->Show MenuBar isn't working in 11.04 and later To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/787465/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 787465] Re: View->Show MenuBar isn't working in 11.04 and later
I uninstalled the appmenu because I use the fallback session and noticed that the appmenu was still there hidden under the gnome-panel. I also noticed that if the appmenu is installed the gnome-terminal does not respect the "Show Menubar" option that I usually have disabled. Then I thought I would try unity, and also don't want the global menu there. The odd thing is that the gnome-terminal does not respect the "Show Menubar" option when the appmenu is uninstalled in the "ubuntu" session with unity.

[Bug 259385] Re: [i845] Intrepid Compiz hangs on login for i830MG, i845, (and i945GM?) video cards
Daniƫl H: I can not see a difference in speed from running compiz with the modified xorg.conf now, and when I was running compiz in Hardy on that computer. Of course it does slow the desktop down a little from when compiz is not being run. From what I have read the option that is set in the modified xorg.conf was the default before and did not need to be set manually. I think that what caused the problem to begin with is a change in the xserver that caused it to not set the correct default options for these cards. -- [i845] Intrepid Compiz hangs on login for i830MG, i845, (and i945GM?) video cards https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259385 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to yelp in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I finally figured out how to get compiz working on a computer with an intel 845 chip that is running intrepid. Make the device section of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file read as follows: Section "Device" Identifier "Configured Video Device" Driver "intel" Option "AccelMethod" "XAA" EndSection You will also have to remark out the line in the file /usr/bin/compiz that reads: T="$T 8086:3577 8086:2562" # Intel 830MG, 845G (LP: #259385) -- [i845] Intrepid Compiz hangs on login for i830MG, i845, (and i945GM?) video cards https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259385 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to yelp in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 259385] Re: Intrepid Compiz hangs on login for i830MG, i845, and i945GM video cards
Bryce: Look a little closer. The bug is marked as 'Fix Released' for Compiz, but not for xf86-video-intel. That is where the real bug is. That has finally been assigned at least. The compiz fixes were merely workarounds. It seems pretty said to me that a bug would be closed while even some part of it is marked confirmed and not fixed. If that is the case this bug tracker concept has failed and launchpad needs to rethink how it is set up. Perhaps the title is a bit vague, and "seemingly" indicative of a variety of problems, but that is why there is a more detailed response. Also that is the point of allowing others to comment on the bug, and how it "seems" to affect them also. -- Intrepid Compiz hangs on login for i830MG, i845, and i945GM video cards https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259385 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to yelp in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 259385] Re: Intrepid Compiz hangs on login for i830MG, i845, and i945GM video cards
jerrylamos, why do you keep insisting that this is a compiz issue when all evidence points to the intel driver. It is silly to start dropping words like "codepath" that you don't understand to argue your point. It is not that compiz uses "codepaths" that don't work, it is that compiz uses driver paths that are not working properly. The driver paths are the problem. It is the responsibility of the driver to make the paths to the hardware properly available. The fact that these paths are not working is a problem in the driver not compiz. There are other software applications that use these paths, although not very many at this point. For example the Avant Window Navigator developers are undergoing a rewrite to see if they can start using them. These paths make it possible to achieve accelerated graphics without the overhead of cpu use by accessing the video cards hardware directly. Now enough with the talk about compiz being at fault.
I find it a tad annoying that although this bug is widely confirmed the importance is still marked as undecided and it has not been assigned to anyone to repair. I am referring to the bug in the intel drivers, which is still marked as confirmed but not fixed. A workaround was been implemented in compiz, and then this was forgotten. Seems to be the theme with Intrepid. Display issues abound.
