[Bug 62430] Re: rhythmbox doesn't do anything with .pls given on the command line

2008-08-29 Thread hawkes
This problem still occurs here with current up-to-date hardy and seems
to be related to playlist that contains link to another playlist. I try
to listen to http://smoothjazz.com/streams/smoothjazz_64.pls, which
containts http://64.15.67.4/listen.pls

I find in the debug output a hint from gstreamer - no suitable decoder
found for text/uri. Problem occurs with all Gstreamer related programs
(Banshee, Totem, Rhythmbox) and i think its a problem of GstPlaybin -
but i couldn't find a bug report.

[Bug 82426] Re: [apport] ekiga crashed with SIGSEGV in PHostByName::GetHost()

2007-07-17 Thread hawkes
Yes, this bug still occurs in GUTSY. Opening Ekiga, it registers itself,
Closing Egika. After about 5-10seconds the Crash Dialog comes up. I'm
not sure, how to attach the new backtrace to this bug.

didn't find a libnotify1-dbg ?

[Bug 86449] Re: [apport] gaim crashed with SIGSEGV in malloc()

2007-02-20 Thread hawkes
Until now, i couldn't crash it under valgrind, but after a friend of
mine sent very fast many messages i got:

0:10:11.168512000 15442 0x1ca52ae0 ERROR GST_PIPELINE
./grammar.y:759:_gst_parse_launch: Unrecoverable syntax error while parsing

gconf.c:121:gst_gconf_render_bin_from_key: gconf: error creating bin
'pulsesink': Unrecoverable syntax error while parsing pipeline bin.( pulsesink )

and i have a valgrind.log. IIRC gaim creates a new thread for every
message chat, shouldn't i call valgrind with --trace-children?

Mmh - I've tried now for two hours to reproduce this bug and generate a
valgrind log, but i guess, for now, this bug is unreproducable.

Maybe we can close this bug and i reopen it, if i find a similiar
stacktrace.

[Bug 66720] Re: Orca fails to read web pages in Firefox

2006-10-31 Thread Benjamin Hawkes-Lewis
Further testing suggests that this bug also affects Epiphany, and also
affects LSR. So I think the problem is in the Firefox package. Is there
any chance of backporting a fix from Firefox 3 (Minefield)? Or maybe
offering some official or quasi-official CVS packages of Epiphany or
Firefox?

[Bug 66720] Orca fails to read web pages in Firefox

2006-10-18 Thread Benjamin Hawkes-Lewis
Public bug reported:

1. Start Orca
2. Enable Braille Monitor under Orca preferences.
3. Start Gnome Terminal
4. In Terminal, execute "export GTK_MODULES=" (I explain why below).
5. In Terminal, execute "firefox"
6. Visit a webpage
7. Press F7 and select OK to enable caret browsing mode.
8. A caret should now be visible in the web page. As you move it around with
the arrow keys, Orca should read the web page text. But this doesn't happen!
Orca remains silent.

NB: GTK_MODULES is set to null because of the following Firefox bug,
which causes Orca to sometimes reads "PANEL" instead of the web page
content:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339554

See also:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341463

Sadly, this would be difficult to make a default setting since it also
breaks the file picker:

[Bug 64188] Enabling Orca breaks Gnome on Edgy LiveCD

2006-10-05 Thread Benjamin Hawkes-Lewis
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-orca

I burnt the latest ISO of the Edgy Live CD on 6 October 2006, verified
its integrity, and launched Gnome. Things seemed to be working fine, so
I started Orca from the Applications menu. In the setup script, I said
"yes" to the first option, "no" to the rest. It said to log out and log
in again, which I did. But the Gnome splash screen rectangle (where
icons appear as parts of Gnome loaded) remained overlaid on the Desktop.
If I selected an application such as Text Editor or Terminal from the
menu, a "Launching..." message would appear in the bottom panel, then
eventually disappear. No application appeared.
