[Bug 483656] Re: Suggestion: Please improve the search function of Evolution

2010-01-22 Thread ichhaankur
I am also affected by this.

What about a "search all" choice? Why do I have to choose whether the
term is in sender etc. always?

Moreover, sometimes the search does not return all results that ought to
be there.

It's a serious usability issue. Please do something.

In Karmic, after importing the .csv file into a new folder in my

[Bug 427063] Re: Suggestion: Indentation for Programming

2009-10-05 Thread ichhaankur
I see.

I found it now. Do you think there is a way of making that obvious to
the user?

What about-
when gedit finds somebody writing codes (it automatically detects the lanugage
already, right?) it suggests in a baloon that says-

"Related plugins are available."

The user could choose between-
1. Yes, show me. (Goes to browser with the url which lists plugins related to X

2. No, not now. (Next time when the user writes the same language, the baloon
pops up.)
3. I don't want to know/I already know. (Gedit shuts up. :) )

Kinda like the way firefox asks users if he/she wants to save the password?

[Bug 373722] [NEW] Evolution Import of Multiple vCards is Messy

2009-05-08 Thread ichhaankur
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

This is a usability issue.

I had a bunch of vCards to import to my contacts. I thought I could
select them all, right click and open with Evolution. Didn't work. I
thought, then, that I should be able to import them all from inside
evolution (and/or contacts manager). Didn't work, either. I had to go
through file- import- ... about 10 clicks to import all of the 40
vCards, totalling about 400 clicks. And then I discovered that
Kaddressbook can do that with only a few clicks. (With file- import, and
also with "open with").

[Bug 91637] Re: Evolution displays wrong time after new dst

I saw a very similar problem. When I edit the task, the time is entered
at 11:00am, let's say. However, on evolution calender view, it shows the
time to be one hour earlier at 10:00 am. (See attachment.) Not hard to
guess, the alarms are being rung at the wrong time.

[Bug 293508] [NEW] usability: dvd playback does not start automatically

2008-11-04 Thread ichhaankur
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

I am using totem gstreamer with Hardy (8.04.1).

DVD playback is working, but there are some usability problems, which
can be easily fixed. It took me some time to figure out (I'm an
experienced Linux user), so I am sure others will face the same
confusion.

The Problem:
After the DVD is inserted, it's properly mounted and totem starts. It shows the
first item in the menu and does not load the other items. One has to manually
do Movie -> Play Disc to load the DVD menu.

Thanks.
