[Bug 841409] Re: GEdit is the only choice as Calendar application in Default Applications dialog

2012-10-27 Thread igi
** Description changed:

- In Ubuntu Oneiric (11.10) beta1, opening the Deafult Applications dialog
(System Settings -> System Information), GEdit is selected (and only possible
choice) for Calendar items.
+ In Ubuntu Oneiric (11.10) beta1, opening the Default Applications dialog
(System Settings -> System Information), GEdit is selected (and only possible
choice) for Calendar items.
  I think this is not expected, since it is not so useful to open calendar data
as standard text).

  In Oneiric Thunderbird is default email client. Currently Thunderbird7 beta
is installed, and I noticed the Lightning extension for Calendar is not
compatible with it yet.
  Will Thunderbird/Lightining be possible values for Calendar applications?

[Bug 881655] [NEW] Bad date in picture property dialog

2011-10-25 Thread igi
Public bug reported:

Right clicking on a photo (a *.jpg in my case), selecting Properties and then
clicking on the image tab shows bad date format.
For the attached screenshot the shoot date is 2011-10-04 (-mm-dd), but the
value is shown with format -mmd-dd.

[Bug 841409] [NEW] GEdit is the only choise as Calendar application in Default Applications dialog

2011-09-04 Thread igi
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu Oneiric (11.10) beta1, opening the Deafult Applications dialog
(System Settings -> System Information), GEdit is selected (and only possible
choice) for Calendar items.
I think this is not expected, since it is not so useful to open calendar data
as standard text).

In Oneiric Thunderbird is default email client. Currently Thunderbird7 beta is
installed, and I noticed the Lightning extension for Calendar is not compatible
with it yet.
Will Thunderbird/Lightining be possible values for Calendar applications?

2011-06-15 Thread igi
This bug is 100% reproducible in my PC: I just need to boot up and log in:
desktop starts with no icons on it.
See description for recover steps (I have to do them at every log in).
Please tell me how to create an appropriate log to provide (but please consider
my HW got broken recently and I need to repair before making my desktop PC work
again).

** Description changed:

[Bug 739831] [NEW] brasero does not create iso images if project is not saved

2011-03-21 Thread igi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brasero

Whenever I create a new data project, add necessary folders/files, and then run
the creation of a .iso image without saving the project at least once, the
following happens: the dimension verification starts, but as soon as it ends, a
small .iso image is created (roundabout 2 MB) with nothing inside; finally, the
success confirmation is given.
As a workaround, I save the project right before starting the image creation.

[Bug 558853] Re: PC does not hibernate

2010-11-20 Thread igi
@Fabio: I have checked the test you proposed.
First, I reverted my Configurations Settings, then I tried to hibernate, and
noticed the issue is still here.
So, I killed and restarted gpm in debug mode and retried to hibernate my PC.
The issue was the same. I am attaching the debug log (which I cannot interpret).

[Bug 558853] gnome-power-bugreport.txt

2010-10-30 Thread igi
apport information

** Attachment added: "gnome-power-bugreport.txt"

https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/558853/+attachment/1716927/+files/gnome-power-bugreport.txt

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

  In my Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick installation (and previously Ubuntu 09.10 Karmic
and 10.04 Lucid), when requested to hibernate (from the power icon in the
panel) the PC gets frozen:
    - the monitor is switched off;
    - the PC Power LED stays ON.

  Then, when I reboot the PC with the reset Hard-button, the audio is
  muted (according what the related panel icon says).

  The hybernation worked properly with my HW till I left Jaunty for Intrepid.

[Bug 558853] Re: PC does not hibernate

2010-10-30 Thread igi
apport information

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

  In my Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick installation (and previously Ubuntu 09.10 Karmic
and 10.04 Lucid), when requested to hibernate (from the power icon in the
panel) the PC gets frozen:
    - the monitor is switched off;
    - the PC Power LED stays ON.

  Then, when I reboot the PC with the reset Hard-button, the audio is
  muted (according what the related panel icon says).

  The hybernation worked properly with my HW till I left Jaunty for Intrepid.

[Bug 668722] [NEW] Rhythmbox cannot edit id3-tag if track is being played

2010-10-30 Thread igi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

If I try to modify id3-tag information for an audio track which is playing, I
get the error message that the file already exists.
I guess this is due to the fact that the file is open and so it is locked.
To solve this, I guess the file change should be queued and performed once the
track is closed (on track change or application exit, etc.).

ProblemType: Bug

[Bug 558853] Re: PC does not hybernate

2010-10-16 Thread igi
@Pedro: yes the problem is still here (a bit improved, but not completely
solved).
I've performed the bug-update and then refined the bug description to the
behaviour on Maverick.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

+ In my Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick installation (and previously Ubuntu 09.10 Karmic
and 10.04 Lucid), when requested to hibernate (from the power icon in the
panel) the PC gets frozen:
+   - the monitor is switched off;
+   - the PC Power LED stays ON.

- In my Ubuntu 09.10 Karmic and 10.04 Lucid beta2 installation, when requested
to hybernate (from the power icon in the panel) the PC gets frozen:
-   - the monitor is switched off;
- - the HD read/write LED stays ON.
-
- Then, when I force to shutdown from the PC power button and I reboot,
- after the fscheck, no wired LAN network is detected (according what the
- related panel icon says).
-
- To finally restore functionality, I have to reboot once again.
+ Then, when I reboot the PC with the reset Hard-button, the audio is
+ muted (according what the related panel icon says).

  The hybernation worked properly with my HW till I left Jaunty for Intrepid.

[Bug 558853] Re: PC does not hybernate

2010-10-16 Thread igi
apport information

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

  In my Ubuntu 09.10 Karmic and 10.04 Lucid beta2 installation, when requested
to hybernate (from the power icon in the panel) the PC gets frozen:
- the monitor is switched off;
- the HD read/write LED stays ON.

  Then, when I force to shutdown from the PC power button and I reboot,
  after the fscheck, no wired LAN network is detected (according what the
  related panel icon says).

  To finally restore functionality, I have to reboot once again.

  The hybernation worked properly with my HW till I left Jaunty for Intrepid.

[Bug 635319] Re: Mount error window after dismounting USB flash drive

2010-09-13 Thread igi
@Pedro: I added the apport-collect information.
I also tried to record a video, but the result was not good in maverick beta.
The user case sequence is in my original description.
But of course, it could be detailed. For instance: lately I have noticed that
the error window is displayed only after first time I eject the USB drive after
boot.

I am available to discuss on irc and/of - if we are able to make it - to
share my desktop and show.

[Bug 635319] Re: Mount error window after dismounting USB flash drive

2010-09-13 Thread igi
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: nautilus

  Following behaviour happens, but it is not systematic:
  - Preconditions: Nautilus path is USB flash drive root folder; Places and
drives left window is visible.
  - Action: I click in the eject icon close to USB drive, to dismount it;
  - Effect:
1- the USB is properly dismounted;
2- Nautilus changes path to "computer:///" (as it properly does in stable
releases - Lucid for instance);
3- an error window appears, saying the "computer:///" is already mounted
(unexpected).

  I'm not sure if order is 1-2-3 or 1-3-2.
